Post up a pic of your buggy chop shop. Id like to see how your tube buggy is set up since this thread is about buggies not toyota pickups. And if your gonna sit their and talk **** about what i want to run instead of telling me their shitty and you wouldnt run them why dont you tell me something useful like maybe what springs youve found to work good or heard of working good. What springs do you run under your BUGGY THAT YOU BUILT.:awesomework:

I just want to use about 3 1/2 feet of frame or as suggested 2x4 under the belly and go tube from their on out. I dont think a frame is to go now that ive been looking around i think 2x4 would be the best to build off of.

If there is an absolute right way to build a buggy then where are the plans? Seems like I see a lot of different designs. Does anybody remember the Scorpion or the Avalanche Eng. buggies of the past. They are a bit obsolete when compared to what is built today but I bet that they would still work pretty damn good.

My faverett buggy of all time is the sniper from avalanche that thing is bad ass and it was a little before its time.

I just got what you meant with that pic. That is a hack job and I no way condone that. I did say build it safe.:D

Nutter, just search leaf sprung buggy on pirate. I am sure ya could read for years. But, if your going to build a buggy, I personally would just go with linked suspension, I mean your spending the time to build it, may as well build it to its full potential. My $0.02:awesomework:

2.5 inch Swayaways Resis with triple rates and thick links and chromo heims.:;

not leafs and truck junk.

a buggy is linked and tubed. A tube body on a frame with leafs is called a formula toy or tube bodied truck.

just look here to repeat my mistakes. http://www.nw-wheelers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37402 This is the fourth version of this rig.

I will talk as much **** as I like, I have been down the exact road you are going now. I started building a buggy on a frame with leafs, then I started getting better parts faster than I was working on it and had to constantly tear off old **** and do it over with fancy parts.

You can choose to listen to the **** or eat it, AT&T says , "you make the call":kissmyass:

If youd like i could change the title to tube with leafs under it questions.
Or who feels like talking **** today questions. Either way my questions wernt what should i run leafs or links my question was ow much better does a linked rig do compared to a leafed ive had both and i personaly like leafs better. Can anyone find the scientific real discription of what a buggy has to have to be considered a buggy.

No comparison if the links and springs are set up correct.
Links will work 10 times better.

To be a buggy you have to start from scratch. No frame.
Yes it could still be a buggy with leaf springs. It would just be a :rb: buggy.

I would agree with brads statement below build it right the first time to save yourself alot less hassel in the long run & I also think links are the way to go! You say you prefer leafs, but how were your past vehicles configured? :eeek: Some people might not agree with the way Brad builds some of his rigs but I can honestly say that ive seen one the rigs he built perform very well on the trail :awesomework: and that rig has a 4link setup :corn:
