Turbo 2rz AW4 to 300 would be my vote.

If wanting to run a d44 setup, I would stay as light as possible and not over 38" tires. And then I would build the axles.

However I was thinking about using a ford escort 2.0 dohc automatic with a NP205 and HP44/9 stuffed with 5.38/5.43. It's 110 horsepower stock but has good aftermarket support and can rev high RPM. The trans has a 1st gear of 2.8 to 1 with a final drive of 3.74 which will give me 10.74 then coupled with the 205 tcase and the gears will give her a crawl ratio of 114. I was thinking of 39 krawlers. So what do you guy's think would this work?
