Build Moonbuggy or 4 seat wagon?

Small 4-seater, you can do one that is marginally larger than a comp style 2-seater. Have one going together now that the "small backseat" is removable (as we have twin girls that dont always go) and can be replace with a storage box for whatever is needed. We will probably compete some with this rig as well. It is way more difficult to package everything this way to keep it small, but worth it. There is no reason a rig like this can't kick ass :****:

I agree... Nolen has a TC 4 seater and that thing gets it done. It is just a little bigger than their comp buggy. If I needed or wanted a 4 seater it would have to be built with his in mind. Most people build 4 seaters that are just way to big and heavy. Nolens rig could easily be used as a comp buggy.

I think I am stuck on the 4 seater. Will build it and if I dont like it sell it. Will take awhile to build, just bought a 5th wheel camper to spend some time with the girls. Keep tring to talk myself into ordering joints so I can bend it up and get it rolling.

You have too many parts now. You have to start. :woot:

Let's see.

Coilovers
motor
t-case
tires
tubing
axle housing
3rd member for rear axle
3 idiots to help at any given time...especially Wednesdays. 4 if you count Matt on the rare occasion he has a hall pass. :woody:
seats
u-joints
front and rear winch

What are you waiting on? :drinkers:

Noted.

You can qualify in your family wagon.

:flipgotcha:

Please dont tell me Sam is driving your buggy to qualify in
Better get his dads CC number before he starts.

Ruff stuff is out of the 7/8" LH joints. Gonna get on the list adn get them here as soon as he gets them in. Then start bending and see how many seats will fit.

Nother SMALL four seater vote. now a days four seaters can be built just as small as most two seaters. I am working on a small four seater right now. the spec's I am shooting for with mine are:
3,000LBS (I said shooting for :flipgotcha: :flipoff1:)
four seats (Two bucket and a bench rear)
105-108 WB (currently sitting at 106")
Four link front and back.
6-7" of up travel front and back
18"-20" belly height.
40-45 deg. steering

don't do a rear engine 2 seat, it'll never work :flipoff1:
Honestly, most 2 seat buggies out there 107 and above could be 3 seaters (small bench) if they had a custom fuel cell and battery mount made. A lot of builds have a boughten fuel cell and its square and kills the whole rear of the rig space wise.
I want a rear engine single seat moon, but I'm making a 2 seat rear engine because I know I'll want that when I'm done. Normally nobody will get in with me, but someday, someone might laughing1

Comps will be fun...but I've yet to trail ride all day and all night with someone in a moon buggy. I love trail riding, a moon buggy wouldn't be for me (not on my dime anyway). I enjoy having passengers way too much to sacrifice a seat to do 5 minute runs in a comp (most comps). I'm not going to try and convince you that a moon buggy isn't king at certain things, but I like my rig to look like something and carry a passneger. I'm a trail rider first, a comp person second, and I don't see it changing. Just my .02.
