BamaTJ said:All this **** confuses me, maybe somebody can brake down what all the GVW and GVR's mean and what we can do? I know they ask you at the DMV if you will be over 8k weight wise and want you to get a special tag for that, but that is all I know. I know my 3/4 truck weighs in at 7k or so, my trailer is 2500lb and rig is 4000lb. So does that mean by GVW is 13500lbs or am I missing something?
GCWR is gross combination weight rating. truck and trailer.LUNCH said:Yeah GVW is your gross vehicle weight and the GVR's are your gross vehicle rated which means what your truck is rated to haul. THat shits been this way for years, whats the DOT is looking for is all of these hot shot guys thats going around hauling with no cdls and that dont keep log books and stuff like that. The chances of us getting messed with hauling our rigs is pretty slim. But even if you had to get a cdl is a walk in the park and could be done within a week. But Matt O all you need is a regular tag because your not hauling anything commercially or for pay.

CDL is a no go for me, and I haul for my business sometimes. I lost my class A with my last DUI and now can't get one for a while.
