If you are going to change oil & nitrogen levels here is what I would do:
Get all oil out of shock.
Fill shocks with as much oil as they will hold and NOT hydro lock.
Charge with nitrogen to get to desired ride height.
This will give you your highest "spring rate" with lowest possible nitrogen pressure. This will help with body roll but will give you a harsher ride.
Go riding and use this as your baseline for adjustments.
You should like the stability but may not like the ride quality.
A tight center limit strap helps keep the shocks from unloading with going down a steep descent. Have always ran a tight center limit strap with air shocks.
Easy way to put oil in shocks is to remove the valve core and get a small hose that will fit tightly over the valve stem. Fully compress the shock, stick end of hose in premeasured oil and pull the shock shaft out. The shock will act like a giant syringe and pull the oil in it. Of course you have to remove the shock from the truck to do it this way.
