Chevy TBI Nightmare

Everything has a learning curve but go ahead and build a twin tank setup cause when propane goes out it goes out 10 gallons of pane ain't 10 gallons of gas!!

Don't get me started on propane... I switched over to EFI and will never look back. When all is said and done, it cost me just about as much for the FAST system as it did for the propane system when you add the extra tanks, extra brackets etc.. etc..

As far as the FAST system goes.. SUPER easy to install and my big block runs night and day better than it did on pane. Not an opinion. Just a fact. I'll keep my opinions about "pain" I mean "pane" to myself.

i had tons of issues with my TBI setup on my old buggy, called painless wiring, spent $$$ and got their wiring harness, never had a bit of issue after. best 300$ i spent! all it takes is a + (battery) a - (battery/chassis) and then you run your own ignition wire from starter to switch.

finally found someone that is willing to come check it out on Saturday. im no electrical guy so this is my last option before I either switch to propane or call painless to get a new harness as you mentioned. I will keep everyone posted. again thanks for all the help. its discouraging not being able to fix somthing yourself.

There is an older guy that use to get on here. He is really good on chevy TBI, but I can NOT remember his user name.

I want to eliminate all wiring except whats needed to run the tbi set up. I have no issues running a switch panel for starter or fuel pump. Ill also wire up aftermarket gauges

There was a couple propane kits in the for sale I believe. Don't spend on a brand new setup. I've lot maybe 450 into a complete setup, two tanks and sets of brackets. 3/8 hyd hose and fitting from tractor supply, rebuild kits for the mixer and evap. You can get an HEI dizzy out of every junkyard in America. You may need a 4barrel intake. Two ign on power wires is all u need. One for propane shutoff solenoid and one for HEI dizzy. With a stockish motor you will love it.

Well I feel like an idiot. The guy came today to look at the wiring for the tbi before I ditched it for propane... within about 20 min he found a couple of semi hidden toggle switches that control the ignition and fuel pump. Flipped the switches and it fired right up. :woot. In the process we did find some wires that needed fixing but overall I feel like a idiot. Thanks for all your guys help
