How much faster are the BooYangs than the 50's? Those of you with 50's, would you rather have a China bike?

I've owned both..
first the china man special...
Better suspension out of the box...(If you get a good brand.. Sikk mx, bbr, ssr, and I suppose BuYang...)
There are actually knock off, knock offs... ask mason about monster Joe.. the $300 ebay bike.. :flipoff1:
They are quite faster, with the option of 4 speed and a manual clutch...
But..
Downside is reliability adn maintenence... Something is going to break every ride...
usually nothing major.. Tensioner, chain, bearing, bolt.. something.. Just becomes a real hassle...

As for The honda..
Ask miles.. You CAN"T kill them..
Reliability is thru the roof.. and they can be found on craigslist for a very reasonable price... $550 for an 06 model..
But when they arrive there is a list of MUST do's..
big bar kit... $150
fat boy spring front adn rear $60
skid plate$20
then... you can choose to modify stock exhaust, re-jet adn airbox mod for an additional $10 bucks.. gives about 1 more HP..
Stock 50 is about 2.5 HP..

I just ordered the Trail bikes 88cc kit w/ race head and mx cam...
heavy duty clutch springs, high volume oil pump, and MX CDI...
About $400 total...
BBR race exhaust to come....

this will bring me up to almost 10 HP....
Chinese bikes only make about 8.5..

So it's like anything else..
you get what you pay for... depends if your going to stay in the sport or treat it as the phase it probably is for some...
Chinese= fun but disposable Honda= good performance at a cost, but will last forever and be very dependable...

Agreed. Booyangs are good for a while then you have to work on them. I have made alot of better parts fit my bike so I don't brake like the rear hub and disc setup I just put on. Also updated the shifting fork. The only thing I brake now are the levers when I ride, but that happens to everyone with a fitty. What I am saying is if you want to ride hard when you get home is buy a Honda or one that somone has had and worked on like mine. If you wanta go cheap and put around for now and upgrade parts later go Booyang. Let me say CheapJ7 was very rough on his unit and it stayed togther very well.

My Honda 50 has an 88cc kit , and if it werent for a bald back tire I woulda been eatin Buyangs up... I was eating a few of em up anyway ( rider has alot to do with it ) I waited until I found the right Honda( someone already spent a fortune in aftermarket mods on it so I didnt ) because I was very leary of the knock off bikes and reliability.

I wouldnt trade my fiddy for a bu-yang for anything. If I had loot, mine would be sitting up with a real suspension, but to do it the way I think would make it worth it would cost about as much as 2 Buyangs, so Ill just keep being the underdog and smokin sucka's booyang

Ride Red !! :flipoff1:

My throttle cable gave me fits this weekend, been an intermittent issue in the making, I think it due to the taller bars and a cable not quite long enough, anyway it frayed were it drops into the carb... hanging the spring up and wide open she would run booyang

Found a new one on Ebay thats 34" ( alot longer than stock and mine ) with a buy it now price of...........

1.00 laughing1

9.99 shipping so yea, it set me back a little bit of money :afro:
