Well my dodge has had a goofy run problem since I bought it. I just checked the codes and it has a P0216

I assume that code is BAD....

Ya but did you buy that vehicle on 7/20/06?

sounds like a whole lot of fun:mad: especially after reading that link  hope that your dealer will take care of it, they should since its under warranty still correct?

You got the 'dead pedal'? Mine still ran with a bad vp44 it just blew a ton of white smoke. Get the marine grade injector pump. Good for 60 more hp, i've heard anyway.

It blows zero smoke and only acts up below 2300 rpm after going at a constant speed for a short spell. And its intermintent..

I am going to call the dealership or head up north to them on monday and show just how pissed I am.

Just before I got it they put a new pump in the tank and after alot of reading its making sense,,

Hell yeah! no such thing as a cheap fix in a diesel! My powerstroke was $300ing me to death for a while there:mad:

The intermittant lack of power is called going up hills. It's a stock rig, it's not supposed to have "power".:redneck: :haha:

sorry man, I don't know what's wrong with your truck but if they replaced the lift pump that would imply that the old one was bad. You may be looking at a injector pump?:booo:

Mike
If I recall correctly, you were only looking for under 100k trucks.
You ought to call the dealer you bought it from and ask about the Extended Service Contract and/or Extended Service Warranty. Get a price and coverage (terms and components). Do the same at the shop you work at. I'd guess it'd qualify for one with under 100k, provided it's a 3/4 ton. (1 Tons have their own rules). Might be able to buy the warranty now for less than the later repair, and when it does go tits up, get it fixed. Plus you'ld have additional coverage if anything else gives you headaches. My guess, if it qualifies, is that you'ld be looking between $2-3K for a ESC.

That code is legendary in the Dodge world

Sorry to hear you're having to deal with it. Sounds like the dealership knew a problem existed and tried to bandaid it. Hope things work out for the best...

H&H deisel in fife put a lift pump and injector pump in my buddies dodge 24 valve for 2300$. They do kick azz work there.

That sucks, but lucky you get better mileage with it. It should pay you back in about 10 years :flipoff:
