Crawling......because I don't have the fab skills or the money for a bouncer. My rig....22RE on leaf springs, my wife's tits bounce while on the trail, that's gotta count for something.

I like wheeling. Trail ride from the parking lot to the first obstacle, then crawl or bounce it depending on what it is, then trail ride to the next and repeat. Why limit your fun by saying your only a crawler or you only trail ride?
This. I'm building mine to handle anything but stupid deep mud. I avoid that **** in my jeep too.

That's what I consider trail riding. Guess it's a matter of perception. When I say trail ride, I mean go to Harlan and leave for the trails at breakfast, pack a lunch, and don't come back till dark. Hit every obstacle you can on the way to and from the top of the mountain.

That's what we do. Although if you're at Harlan at Waterfall/Pinball/Railbed/Creampuff you could probably hit the Dairy Hut in 10 min.

I want to elaborate on something. Earlier I mentioned how boring a crawling competition is (the ones I used to see literally 8-10 years ago). What do you qualify this as though? That looks like a fun time to watch or run in. The comps I used to watch were painstakingly slow where the driver would not make a move with out a spotter telling him to.

Wes Kean's shootout run to take first place W.E.Rock Dayton .wmv

The "shoot out" at the end of we rock comps is a mix of cone dodging and rock bouncing. You have X amount of time to clear different gates and check them in. That's why you see him going back to the start line. All you have to do is get 3 tires through a gate (two cones) and if you knock the cones over it doesn't matter.

Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining. I should have assumed that when it said shootout. Sounds entertaining and fun to be a part of. Nothing like that going on around me at all (at least the past 5 years or so). I really want to start traveling more when the new build is done. If not for comps, then for weekends such as RBD at Morris Mountain.

Nit much for just watching either one. Thats probly why im usually working recovery if im at an event. My best times, and favorite place to wheel is Clayton!! 90% crawling and trail rideing. Try bounceing at clayton, and you will not have a good weekend!

As for competeing, i have ran a few comps, but if i was to build a rig to compete now, it would be something along the lines of U4 or dirt riot! Seams if your going to spend that kinda money on a rig, why not run it for more than 2 min up a hill :dunno: Not to mention the u4 style rigs seam to do pretty well bounceing!!
