How are you listening to the XM? Do you have speakers on your bike or are you pluging headphones into the outlet? Just wandering.

headphones into the outlet. Unsure if it will be loud enough or if I will need a booster amp in my tank bag. Likely just run the MP3 in my jacket pocket and call it good.

Great idea... Blast some MP3's so you can't hear the truck horn that's about to run over ya

I use an ipod in the pocket on both of my Harleys and it is plenty loud enough with a half shell. Was just wandering about the xm because I have one and was thinking about putting it on my bike.

Like people don't drive their cars with the music turned up. Half the time they never hear or notice sirens anyway. I hear that ALL the time and will never understand the logic. If the MP3 isn't in, earplugs are, so what's the issue?
