Dana 44 cut/turn? how much?

I really don't even need to knock them off so much as rotate them a little...
It didn't even occur to me you might be able to leave them on :D

Heat them up with a torch. Don't get carried away though, or you could end up warping them when you commence hammer time.

I figure i can maybe knock them loose(away form the 3rd) then see about whacking them to the desired angle. then smacking them back down flush again...maybe....:corn: then i will pay the crusty's a visit:awesomework:

I tried to do that but couldn't get them to rotate with the BFH. Had to take them all the way off and use a wire wheel/emery cloth to clean up the axle tube a bit. Then put them back on and they would barely rotate with the assistance of favorite BFH

Ok, i think i might just get some "strong" axle shafts, measure my friends axle (waggy) and cut/turn my FW axle i just acquired. Then get some high steer stuff and go full out.:awesomework:

I still have that other housing if you want it. When it comes to cutting the knuckles loose, I can have it done in about 10min per side. Gotta love carbon arc. I can also re-weld it for you. I have access to industrial grade welding equipment at work. Wouldnt be an issue. :awesomework:

Ok, I will go ahead and get the housing from you. umm. not sure when i can get it from you though...? I know you are moving tomorrow, and i am headed in the opposite direction (south tomorrow) Otherwise i would swing by.

I will have just about everything moved by sunday. Since its just a bare housing, I can move it easily. I can also take it to work and scarf off the inner C's and prep them for reassembly. :corn:

If you took the C's off for me, what would it cost me? That makes me happy just thinking about it:cheer: then if i cut the tubes to desired length and brought them back up....:eeek:

Here we go...

:corn:

You like it when my squirrel goes nuts don't ya!? :kissmybutt:

tear down of axle number one comences tonight...
-calipers for cores, and prelim. measurements off the axle i have in front of me, not to entice my friend to come over so i can measure his shaft....errr.... i mean axle....:redneck:
