dana 60 lockers?

Internet dream build much??? Get an ARB, can't get one? Get a Detroit, can't get one of those either? Get a spool.... Don't overthink it Brad:flipoff:

You may want to overthink it a bit more....A Spool shouldn't even be an option and I would go Detroit over ARB. FWIW I have seen a Lockrite go boom in a front 60 on it's first use.....

I aint puttin toy **** my buggy, dillhole.:kissmyass::haha:
I have damn near as much in my toy axles in the wheeler anyways

front elocker HiPinion
rear detroit V6
rock assualt housing
longs
hubs
hysteer
5th stud
spacers
vented brakes.
It dont matter it all costs too much.

I should have stuck with fishin.:redneck:

Sorry Brad I just had to qoute this for prosperity :haha:

Have you checked on the pricing for a factory refurbished ARB or Detroit ? Might save a little $$. Now you know why my rig is taking so long:booo:. Quality parts are spendy and I am not taking any shortcuts on this one.

I am wanting to get an ARB or Elocker for my 60 but cant swing it lootwise unless a super deal on a used or broken one comes along.

So next is a used detroit or a quicklock type locker.

300 bucks gets me into a quicklock type locker, done.
I hate quick locks in toyotas and have killed several. I have heard they are fine in a 60 tho? Any truth to that?

My other question is can I use a 30 spline rear open diff carrier with a 35 spline lockrite in a HP ford front?

I have a rear with 4.10s and an open diff for a donor.

???????????

I have quite a few used parts for a Dana 60 ARB with 410 gears. What I cannot recall because it's been quite a few years, if my they are 30 or 35 spline. When I change from 4.10 to 5.38 gears I had to replace some of the ARB that wasn't compatible. That means I have a spare set of 4.10 R&P to match.

Crash might remember as he did the diff build and parts conversion...

FWIW after reading on PBB about breakage and whatnot I'm very happy to have a lockright in my 60. Barely even notice it's there and there really isn't much chance for failure. Plus if it breaks it's cheaper to replace than a detroit. :D

As for the 30/35 spline carriers there is no difference that Im aware of. The ratio split on a 60 is 4.56, the spiders are all interchangable.

That exhaust is going to be a byiotch to make fit:redneck:

Do it right, One time. The only thing ive changed on my 60 is the oil, And the front shafts since the yukons had some twist on em.

If your cheap now you'll pay for it in the end. Thus MORE money spent.

i went with detroits, in my 14 bolt and 60, but that's all I could afford. Why would you run those instead of ARB's??

In my opion it all depends on wheel/tire size, ratio, Tcase, wheel base, Steering type (hydro, hydro asist, standard power steering) Tires( tread design, N where-what kinda terrain you plan to use the rig in mainly.

Well, no ****...

Give us the what, where, when and why...:fawkdancesmiley:

I don't have lockers in either the d60 or 14b...:redneck:

Because an ARB in all it's fancyness you have to choose open or locked. Sometimes that's fine but often it isn't. A detroit is automatic and can change back and fourth far faster than you could ever shift a ARB. A detroit when open isn't really open which is a bad thing but not that bad. I think in 99% of wheeling a detroit will operate well and you never have to mess with it.
