Saw a dude without a star post these on PBB and snagged his email addy and got the link to some dimple dies for $107. I bought a set http://www.straightlineinnovations.com/

You may ask why? Bones has no welder, no press, no fabrication skills for that matter....

I am asking myself the same questions, but am buying a welder again and figured these would dress up things I build. I need to beef up my utility trailer first....maybe some **** on the vitara....yes the vitara.

**** off

And for some more tech. Is a 12T press enough? or go with the 20T? I have limited space and saving $80 between the two is also favorable.

Will a 12T press off an axle bearing?

Bones I have a 20ton and use the Barbed Wire Dies. 20ton seems like almost overkill on everything with the dies but I'd rather have too much than too little with the 12ton.

I think 12t would be plenty. If you have a bearing straight it will press on fine. Only difference between the presses are the jacks probably.

Presses, air compressors, welders and generators: buy as big as money and space allows.

1 car garage, 2 motorcycles, moped booyang kayak, bicycle and car...yeah space is always an issue

12 ton is good for up to 1/8" You should be fine. Dimple dies make everything look just a bit cooler.

^ have you used one of them punch drivers? I thought they would work pretty good but dont know of anyone that has tired one.

I've used the punch which is conduit size with regular sized dies but actually got the kit for the punch driver. Works nice on 1/8" :dblthumb:

Get this little guy and you wont be limited by the size of the press... I have a 20T press but could not fit the fuel cell pieces which were wider than the inside span. Now with this just bolt the dies and tada...

That **** is bananas B A N A N A ANA! thumb.gif Small and cheap and I can do my entire trailer floor in aluminum now and just use one sheet and not strips....dimple up or dimple down on a 5x8' utility trailer

EDIT....can you use that to pop the holes AND use the dimples or am I pipe dreaming here. Either way that is the **** to pop some holes in ****

You drill a pilot hole punch the hole then dimple with same pump.
I have dimpled holes punched with these punch dies but they're sized for pipe or conduit which is OD.
Barbedwire Offroad has conduit size dimple dies specifically for this punch kit.

SWEET! For what I am doing I imagine the pipe size vs. the dimples I bought will not be a big deal. Thanks a bunch
