I`ve never done this and looking for some ideas on how to do this ! i need more room for my tire`s and for My suspension to be able to work at it`s full potential.:corn:
84 4runner bobb`d,leaf lift,37`s stuffing then into the sheet metal
i call bs. sorry but doning the rear will not gain you anything.
if you think about it like this...
the outer most edge of the fender is the lowest point.. okay so stock it is outside or near the outside of the tires. as the tire travels up it twist in a way. the outer most edge of the tires is the highest point.
okay now you dove the body. moving the lowest point of the body(outermost point of the fender well in. now it is in the center of the tire and when the tire is pushed up it now hits directly on the lowest point
sure if you want to spend the cash tube it and **** the body. but if you want to keep the shell and the tub just cut your fenders. as full stuff my 37's slightly rub the frame. with a good inch of clearence everywhere else
i
You just proved my point to be correct. The outside edge of the tire is the highest point and when the body hits it the tire stops traveling. Move the body in away from the highest point and let the tire stuff up higher to contact the fender with the middle.
How do I know this? I've done it. And to make my tires fit my bed full width I have less than 3" of bedside left above the tire for clearance where before I had about 6" above the tires with a dove'd bed. :;
also we are talking about 37's not 42's or 44's huge difference:awesomework:
Sort of.. If you're building a rig LOW on anything over a 35 you have to cut out a lot of sheetmetal. Yes I had to cut out a **** load more because of my tires but the facts don't change because of the tires. Low rigs with a lot of uptravel need clearance.![]()
