Dta360???

Any help for an ISC 8.3/230HP? She makes good torque but 230 horse and 30,000 lbs makes for slow goin. Cummins NW won't reflash w/o injectors, turbo, and balancer.

A new balancer?:rolleyes: It will need injectors for sure, and the turbo associated with the injectors. You could always find a used HX40/18 or an HX50/17 or 19. Easy way is to get em from an RV, they had the higher hp ratings. An easy way to get over 300hp.
I guess it's better than what some IH dealers say to most DT466E guys. They tell them pistons have to be replaced, on down to the injectors. Those are actually easy to get 350hp from.:awesomework:
 
Yep, kinda what I thought. Not lookin' to spend that sort of cash on a work truck. I have no clue about the balancer or why it needs replaced. Thats what the dealer said was on the CPL list for the higher HP model.
I was hoping there was a little trick or two but all I have found are chips for motorhomes.

wut??? no you have that back wards. look at the tq and hp on a Honda . that 200 hp motor isnt going to pull like a 170 hp 6.2 diesel. the tq is what gets you moving and keeping your momentum. try pulling your car trailer with that high hp motor then pull it with a high tq motor and then tell us what you found.


Torque doesn't matter so much. The HP is what determines how fast it could accelerate the load.

I don't have it backwards. We don't need to post a bunch of off topic in this guys thread as this has been discussed in depth on this forum. Do a search and add to that thread if you want.:cool:
