I work at a Chev dealer and really haven't seen any problems with the D max eng. They had injector problems with the vin 1 eng but warranty covers it for 200k. A very nice engine with alot of power stock.

I've heard of injector harness problems #2? and #7 having connection problems.

I have also heard a bit on the overheating LLY issues but as I do own one I have not had any problems. Also if you install exhaust, turbo, and get rid of the EGR I've heard these guys never overheat.

What do they run in a van? 4L80E? I'm shopping for a new service rig and a long wheelbase Dmax Express van sounds pretty cool. I just assumed the Allison was part of the package.

It's apparently what happens when a Duramax tries to keep up with a "crappy ol' Dodge".

I always wondered why the duramax guys run the fast lane when they can't keep up.
