Duramax info

I sold my 01 to Joe Hartz several years ago. I had just replaced the injectors at 120k. He is close to 160k and it is still going strong. No issues other than the tcase hole issue, but he fixed that before it happened. He had the belt tensioner let go on him, which I had to replace also. And he goes through front end components every year or so, but as Wyatt mentioned you can Cognito that ****.

We have had 01, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 10 model Duramax. All were better trucks than the 10 6.4 Powerjoke we bought and sold immediately.

I sold a 03 to Jimbro at 65,000 miles and when he passed it has 130,000 miles on it. No injector issues, no tranny issues, no squeeks, rattles, nothing.

The 01 is owned by my uncle now, he has never done anything to it and it has 180,000 miles.

Of all the trucks we have had we have never had an injector go bad. Keep the fuel filters changed, don't let it idle like a dipshit farmer all the time and enjoy having a "White Man's" Diesel.

Before the 2006 I always did an Edge with attitude tuner...since 2006 the power is so good we don't mess with them at all.

For that 2003, I would not introduce any tune at 120,000 miles if if does not have it already.

Thats a good looking truck. Hard to believe that it doesn't have any power. First thing I would do is get rid of the BullyDog, never been impressed with them and either get a PPE or efi Live.

see Chris there is a fine line from being modest to just a smart a$$ :flipoff1: :wtflol:

it would be fast but those jacked up wheels weight it down :flipgotcha: (cut me a deal on those yet drool)

and i wouldn't run a chip at all on a 06-07, dang things will bark tires thru third and get the heII outa dodge in a hurry bone stock

i've got an 07 classic that won't hardly get out of it's own way
That makes some sense to me. My '07 moved it, but my '06 has much more snap to it when stock. Now the '06 has an efiLive tune and its pretty stupid to drive.

First one i have owned i love it. 03 with banks six gun 4in and s&b intake. And jew dont you know better than to buy black wheels. :flipoff1:

Dont have pics at this moment as its at the body shop getting a detail, stickers stripped and emblems taken off, a buff job to cover the sticker removal and sexy'd up in general.
19.5's with 245's.
PPE programmer
chrome stainless westins
B&W turnover, never installed new in the bed
rear leaves arched and extra leaf put in, guy had a bumper pull that was way too tall on the neck (pintle) that he lifted the ass to meet. It sets up fairly tall and looks good
billet grille insert,
lots of other small extras

I'll get pics when its all spit shined up.

On the subject of Chevy HD's. Blue Torch had their chase truck there last weekend. It was that mean looking dually they had, they converted it to single wheel and put a utility bed on the back. Man it looked sharp. Anybody get pics? Jason said he just found some wheels with the correct backspacing to work on the rear and bolted them up. That was it on the DRW to SRW conversion.

Since this is becoming a picture thread, I will play. Heres my 2010, got 17K miles on her trouble free......5inch turbo back exhaust (no DPF or Cat or Muffler), PPE Hot Race (300 HP) Runs 9.36 in the 1/8 mile. Budnik 19.5's (last set made) on 225 sumitomo drive tires.

Just bought this one yesterday, 04 LB7 with 98k miles for a work truck. Got factory 2010 wheels and tires off my 10. Pulled the Dually bed off last night, bolting up this flatbed as we speak. Its stock other than its straight piped before the rear tire.
