I have a 2.4 ecotec +th350 +toyota dual cases ready to go in my one seater only thing i am missing is the torque converter (custom built), build a reverse sump oil pan, power steering pump, custom headers and rebuild the tranny ... hoping over the fall will have it completed and ready to tranplant...

Re: ecotec to a toyota or 700r4

tell me more, anyone know of any cheep running wrecks?

Re: ecotec to a toyota or 700r4

Im sure they make a adapter to bolt a th350 or something behind it. Have you thought about 4g63 out of the eclipse and talons they make a adapter to run th350 behind them and I'm making over 400hp in my evo just with it tuned on e85 and the boost turned up past 30psi.

Re: ecotec to a toyota or 700r4

anyone know where to find one cheep!

Re: ecotec to a toyota or 700r4

my son in law told me about a turbo motor but I am looking for a supercharged one.
he is located in hazel green al 256-337-1707
$500 is what he told me

Re: ecotec to a toyota or 700r4

If it was me I'd build a 22r turbo motor run a small turbo, on a built button end, dual springs, port work, and stud the head and commence to beat the **** outta it. Hell I had a Honda crx with a 1.6 liter dohc motor turbo and it laid down 257 on 10 psi and that was a stock motor. I beat on that car like a 2 cent whore done me good till I put a boost controller on there fyi they tend to let loose at around 15..16 psi and leave important parts of your motor on the interstate around there but man was if fun molaugh. Honestly I'd do some form of forced induction on it, best way to make up for lack of displacement and it works on propane, carbed,or efi

ttt for what?

This thread on Pirate has been continually updated and contains answers to basically everything asked in this thread.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/956020-ecotec-tech-questions-5.html

Basically, adapting the Ecotec to pretty much any transmission is possible for a price now. The easiest and cheapest is still the 60* GM V6 pattern though. This includes transmissions like the S10 / camaro 700r4, 94 - 2001 Wrangler 2.5L TF904 / 30RH, and S10 / Camaro 4l60e or any 4l60e with the Camaro / S10 bellhousing swapped in.

Haha, OK, well you changed the title of the thread while I was posting that. So if you're dead-set on Toyota transmissions now I'm no help. :)

No . just a thought . I traded for a 95 vortec 43., th350 and the good toyota t-case adapter with the support bearing.
I still have a 700r not sure if this adapter will work.
only reason for the 4 cyl is the 4 cyl class. but may go another direction.
