Please keep January 10, 2008, 7:00PM open for the Elbe ORV Focus Group Meeting. Due to the potential attendance, the meeting will be held at the New Hope Fellowship Church directly next door to the Graham Fire Station #3 where the meetings have been held in the past.

The address for the New Hope Fellowship Church is 8120 304th St E, Graham.

The agenda will include the following discussion items:

Introductions

Trail Ratings/Restrictions

Trail Adoptions

Campground Issues

State Lands Update

Round Robin

The meeting is expected to adjourn at 9:00PM.

There has been a lot of discussion and misinformation throughout the 4 wheel drive community regarding new restrictions on vehicle size in Elbe Hills. If you wish to contribute to the discussion on this topic and others, I encourage you to attend. This meeting will be an opportunity to set priorities for the upcoming year in Elbe Hills.

Please pass this email to those not on the distribution list who may wish to attend.

Bringing this back to the top. This subject has been talked about quite a bit in the last few weeks, but seems to have lost interest since Christmas. Ya'll pay attention. There is talk of setting up restrictions which MAY prevent you from wheeling at this location. Once rules are adopted, it is my opinion that those rules are more prone to spreading to other areas. And that scares me.

Shouldn't the Restrictions if any? Be decided by the users / volunteer workers that use the trail, versus some office pencil pusher... In my opinion, everyone that has put forth hours of work / trail useage - followed by proof, that they took part in it... over all these years to maintain the trail system,

THEY SHOULD BE THE DESCISION MAKERS ON RESTRICTIONS.

Rich, consider ourselves lucky they even ask us for our input. There is nothing that says they even have to do that.

I looked all through dales threads this morning and found all posts in here had been erased and it was locked in the stickys. I was going to bump it earlier.

bump this **** every evening and lunch/morning time.:awesomework:

I have talked to 5 people at bobbys this week that did not know about it. when asked if they surf the web they said hell no, got no time for computers.

these meeting need to be made aware to the public.:awesomework:

Exactly...... The guys that have 2nd mortgages / $100,000.00+ buggies should really be the ones the most concerned too!

but alot of people do not KNOW that sites like this or the PNW4WDA exsist? or they just don't get online. GATEKEEPERS, trail users, clubs and etc - need to get the "users" attention on this discussion.

Ummm, this has been stickied. It doesn't NEED to be bumped. That's the purpose of having it stickied.

It is the responsibility of the DNR to announce the meeting and it's their choice to email the info to the list of people that ASK to be involved. I see Brad was in the email from Nancy. I must have posted 5 or more times, that it you want to know what's going on, contact Nancy and ASK to be notified. I only saw a couple of new names on the list so it doesn't seem that many people actually cared enough to contact Nancy.

I'm not spending an entire day running to Elbe and to all the off road shops to get it posted. If someone wants to do that, please, go ahead. Take a copy of the email that I posted and ask the shops to distribute it.

Brad, just a point of fact, Steve already distributed HUNDREDS of flyers on this a few weeks ago. There IS no way to inform everyone. This meeting WAS advertised all over the place. My post was simply a reminder and confirming the meeting LOCATION change across the street.

The reason clubs and orgs were invented was to keep everyone in the loop. Pretty smart idea huh :awesomework:

clubs and orgs are not reguired to be an offraoder. I wil not join the PNW and I will not join a club never have never will.:fawkdancesmiley:

I am not alone in this view. I know and work for people that have no use for the internet or computers.

its kinda sad when this low tech hobby, that anyone with an old beater can wheel, needs a computer to be informed. :booo:

yes it needs to be bumped. when it is stickied and locked no one can post in it. that means it nevergets to the top of the home page, duh. do ever look at the number of veiws on stickied items? people see it better on the list. how is bumping a thread affecting this issue negetively?

many users here need a jump start to help them out of the garage and chatter section. the more an issue is at the top of the list, the more people will see it without digging for it.

please accept that there are more users that are not online than there is. I have heard from at least 30 people that heard of sumtin but knew nothin bout it.
my shop is very small and doesnt reach many people, but thats alot (30 in my place) of people out in the dark.

out of all the people I know from years in trucks, only fully, megatoy, and bobby are web surfers that I knew before getting on this board.

I know a TON of locals that had no idea of this meeting. they have wheeled Elbe for 20 to 30 years and are upset.:booo:

it ****in sad when 3400 people cared more about the hangover run than the 200 veiws that care about elbe.:booo:

Gibby,
It's stickied, but not everybody searches the site the same. I tend to click the "new posts" button every time I log on, and then sort thru that to see what's what.
And I unlocked it so that the conversations will re-start, as this meeting is getting close now.

Brad, if it's stickied it's ALWAYS at the top, and on the first page. That's what "stickied" does. Bumping it does absolutely nothing. It'll get unstickied after the meeting and then it'll work it's way down and off the first page.

Do you have Steve's flyers up in your shop? I know that 4 wheel parts and Billy Bobs have had them on the counters. Probably more shops as well.

Thanks for letting those who don't know, know about it. Tell your local friends to whine to the DNR. It is NOT my responsibility to let everyone know. It's not the PNW4WDAs responsibility to let everyone know. It's the DNRs responsibility to inform. I do it as a courtesy and to show that the PNW4WDA is trying to do a better job informing and relating to non-members than it has in the past by opening up communications more to the Internet users. With the kind of responses I've received I doubt very much that the next person in my position will be so daring. Our efforts are so unappreciated that I wouldn't be suprised if this is the last focus group meeting that's posted on the internet by a PNW4WDA rep, other than on the PNW4WA web site. I certainly doubt that there will be little to know discussion.

We could do TV, radio and newspaper ads, and you'll get people say that they don't have time to watch TV, or I never listen to THAT radio station, or I hate the newspaper and they'll still whine and moan that they didn't hear about a meeting or something that's going on.

Let's see, how many people are familiar with the USFS plan for Evan's Creek or what's planned for Tahuya for the next 2 months? Everyone is better informed about Elbe than ANY other ORV area. It's my opinion that your locals that don't have time for the internet, need to get with the times. The internet has been a prime source of communication for the masses. It reaches more people for less money than any other form of communication, including putting up flyers.

OK, I may stand corrected on that. I open up the various sections to see what's there and of course the stickied threads are always at the top.

When did this thread get locked? I just posted this a week ago when I received the email.

Welcome to my world Brad :)

Way more people just go wheeling than will ever care to get involved and help out. And it's not just at Elbe and it's not just 4 wheeling. I'll bet that 99% of the flyers that Steve handed out are all in the garbage today. That's just the way people are and you're right. It's sad.

I'd love to see an HONEST poll about how many people have helped out at a trail work party in the past year, ANYWHERE. Make it so that a user can't post again on the forum until he or she vote's in the poll. I think the numbers would be shocking and that's from people that HAVE been informed. They may not have read the threads but the information WAS made available to them.

I posted this information on every forum that I'm aware of, many of which I don't visit other than to post up information like this. I've had about 6 replies from the other dozen or so forums. NWW is the best place to get any response at all, good or bad.

jeez even rich's threads get more looks than elbe meetings:booo:

REITER TRAILS IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED / SHUT DOWN.

that would grab alot of attention, what some don't understand;

If this measure is approved because of USER input / votes - thats a plus+ for the users that use and maintain elbe. if this measure of restrictions is implemented and imposed without user imput / suggestions, because no one shows up or no one is heard, it just reflects that now the DNR will have a easy way to see how well it went and can continue down the line to impose more restrictions on other areas, as easy and simple as it might go at the Elbe meeting.

===============================================
MAKE THIS A MEETING THAT IS HEARD AND SEEN BY THE DNR.
===============================================

*If you have a statement / question to ask about Elbe Hills Orv area?

please take this time to write it down on a 3x5 card or etc and then post it up here so we can see some of the questions that are going to be asked, and some how get the meeting organized and running smoothly to get all Q & A's asked and answered in the short 2 hour time. thx.
