Electric Gauge Issue?

I tested all this again last night guys. I got the tranny gauge to work finally, I had an extra washer on the sender that was messing it up I believe. Anyways, it moves when it gets power but does not peg. Oil pressure is still fawked, has to be a bad sender as a I know I sent 12v to it. I tested it last night and ran a jumper wire from the sender to the S terminal to make sure my sender wire was not bad, same result as before. I also did a ground jumper from gauge to engine ground, same result. I also checked to make sure the sender was grounding properly through the threads so I added a ground jumper to the sender and it still pegged out. I can unplug the ground from the gauge and I get the same issue, I can unplug the sender from the gauge and it it does not move or peg out. So basically everytime I add the sender into the equation and give it power the gauge pegs.

take the sender wire off the sender & touch that wire to a ground (not 12v) then gage should max out. if it doesn't ,bad gage also. if it does max out , bad sender.

OK pat I bought a new sender. It maxes out as usual when I turn the power switch. Take the sender wire off and touch ground, same result? Ideas. I know mine involves a mechanical gauge...

If your running a relay, check to make sure it's hooked up correctly.

No relay

Seco is going to let me return the sender and get a mechanical gauge. Since I have to get a new gauge, the mechanical is $20 cheaper and I know it will not give me an issue. Sucks to have wasted all this time on an issue and realize you need a new gauge which is the most expensive option, oh well. Should not have any more issues and the only electric gauges I have now are voltage and trans temp.
