Build Looks great. When I mounted my 203 - 205 doubler like that I did this to the back of the trans. Maybe you will have better luck. My motor was not solid it was mounted in Polly bushings but the trans mount was the same.
Yeah my engine is solid. If there is a mount eng. or trans. that is not like the others, this definitely will happen. Always go all solid or all bushed, never mix. :****:
i dont mean to tell a man his business but them shock mounts look like a disaster waiting to happen, your really gonna hate yourself when one breaks off and damages a shock just cuz ya saved 5 minutes fussin with the spacers...just my 2 cents
Gonna complete the bracing on the inboard side of the rear shock axle mounts. They will have 4 bolts holding them directly to the old drum brake backing flange and 3-4 holding them to the upper link bar towers. I'm really trying to keep this thing as serviceable as possible without having to cut any welds out if I ever need to do some major repair. However, this will not hinder me from making this thing rock solid. I really appreciate all who look it over and give me their honest opinion, no matter what that may be. Thanks guys for pointing out these things! I always welcome .02!
Went ahead and doubled the misaligns for all shock mounts upper and lower front and rear for added shock travel side to side just in case it gets bound up. Got bumpstops mounted and pads fabbed. And one bumpstop leaked all the oil out of it, and wouldn't you know it, FOA's plant has been demolished. So I cannot return this defective bump until they re-open. Also got the 'ol 6.0 to fire up after removing the injectors and giving them a brake cleaner/air hose treatment. Even got started on the interior of the buggy. The farther this build goes, the more it looks like I will be keeping it a two seater. The 'ol lady may be mad because little man will definitely get her seat. More pics to come of the recent progress.
Went ahead and beefed up the rear shock mounts and got the engine cage fabbed and installed. Appreciate all the input guys, probably wouldn't have changed the shock mounts until I tore them off!
