Yes, I am "that guy" of "Those Guys", we were in the wifes YJ for her to get seat time before Goldendale.

Sean, we missed you on the trail, but caught up to Troy and Robin in the pit for the wheels up action, we'll have to plan a trip. Now that you know the street the shop is on, on Saturday 8/12/06 @ around 6pm we are having the first of many summertime monthly casual cruise-in bbq type deals, give mew a shout if you can make it over.

I will definitely try and make it. We have a few hot rods too, want me to bring them? we have matt 67 buick GS400 bright red, JR 70 chevelle 396 auto silver, josh 69 charger 440 4sp yellow, me 81 malibu 355 maroon, josh is almost done with his ratrod 27 ford I think

Yep, we will have some cool stuff running around that night as well.

I spoke with the PNW rep to Evans Creek last night. The 222 trail / User built trail is OFF LIMITS.

Anyone running this trail IS doing so illegally and subject to a stiff fine. In addition, if you catch anyone on the trail, photograph them, include the plates if possible and turn it in to the USFS. They will mail a ticket to the offender.

ANYTHING that is not directly on the road or on the trail is OFF LIMITS. The little rock climb that is just outside the pit is OFF LIMITS. This is not part of the trail system.

Hey guys it took a long time before people even knew there was such a trail. The more its talked about the more its looked for. As much as you are trying to be the head chief you are actually making situations worse. So as far as a trail 222, there is no such thing. Take your BS off line

Thanks

Not quite sure where your coming from here troy. The damn thing has been being ran ever since the morons that made it did:mad: I thought that maybe comig down hard on people that ran it might deter some from following suit. Maybe if we quit glorifying the meatheads that run it and therby destroying our trailsystems chance of surviving we migh just might get to keep wheelinf at Evans:rolleyes:

Yeah, I'm going to leave the thread up. Word needs to get out. Once a trail looks like a trail, even well intending people might unknowingly venture onto it. This will help make them aware it is not a legal trail.
As for people that read this and want to go try it because we are "publicizing" it, then they need to be caught and dealt with and whatever happens to them, they will not get my sympathy.

Why doesnt' somebody mark it as "closed" or "off limits", that way nobody wanders on to it. My biggest gripe with Evans is that nothing is well marked.

It has been marked closed several times as well as blocaded but for some strange reason it keeps reopening:rolleyes: All of the trails were at one time marked very well but just like the reader boards the signs have magicly vanished. Hmmmm maybe if people didnt keep using them for firewood in the winter they might last longer:rolleyes:

So put up some Steel Bollards filled with concrete.

Its been suggested before but the FS has this kind of mandate on keeping things looking natural. If you have some suggestions on how to do this please contact bob or mary at the white river ranger station 360-825-6585

What is a steel bollard...sounds pretty beefy. Pics?

I agree that signs need to be posted to keep people informed! If they get ripped down/damaged, then we need to replace them...we cannot give people the option of playing dumb.

It seems like the FS/DNR are not interested in actively managing the ORV areas...I should actually say that they are not interested in spending the money to actively manage the ORV areas...it is easier & cheaper for them to shut it all down. We need FS/DNR staff out on the trails to make sure the signs are correct & that folks are following the rules.

I don't feel that a Sheriff writing mudflap/bumper height tickets in the parking lot is really the answer...

The steel posts that are typically in the ground at tha gas station to keep stupid people from running into the gas pumps.

Here is a pic of a Bollard before the truck hits it.

And After

Of Course on the Trail they would need to be a lot taller, and maybe camo so they would look "natural"
