Evans Creek & General ORV meeting with the Forest Service November 18th, Tuesday, 7:00-9:00. At the DNR building in Enumclaw, the one on the corner that looks like a log cabin. This would be a good place to share your concerns.

Not saying it cant be discussed but its not really a FS issue Hes nailing people on the state hwy (mowich rd) We have expressed to the FS several times the "issue" that hes causing but their attitude has been mixed with "what part of street legal is hard to understand" and its not a FS issue if hes ticketing for violations on the HWY.

So if your not street legal you have to tow it up to the day use parking lot?? Then you cant run the lower 311.

Tech. no But for the most part the fs guys arnt hassling people that are behaving themselves for driving between the trails. The sheriff seems to be tagging people for driving on the HWY in non legal rigs.

Technically, the day use parking lot isn't any better, because there aren't any "legally" accessable trails from there. So basically, we're fawked if we trailer them up too, though like Pokey was saying, the FS guys are cool, as long as you're not doing something stupid.

Has anybody gotten ticketed inside the park? Meaning not on mowich road, but from the entry and above?

Thats always been an issue and its getting fixed in the new revision of the park

Evans is stuck in a big ugly Catch22...

IF "WE" dont continue to go wheel there they might not see a need for it..

IF we do continue to wheel there we get double taxed! pay to play then pay for lame ass tickets!!

Elbe seems to be the better/safer choice of the two..Reiter as well..:awesomework:

Dont like whats happening! Go to the meeting!!

Officer Dan H. is a :rb: Bastard!!!

I guess some of you think he is doing his job and he is but when it come down to it he is out for everyone. He has ticketed rigs, tow rigs and yes I'm street leagal if you look in the RCW. I dont understand why he is in the ORV park and not on Mowich Rd. I've alway gottin along FS and use the area as intendid so why all the I'm an Asshole from the cops. F-in Dicks

Everybodys got a boss.

I wouldn't engage officer Dan, be sweet and respectfull. You can't argue the law, but you can argue Dans judgement with his boss though. I would find out who his boss is. I would also find out who his bosses boss is. Up a couple levels in a small town you are probably at the Sherrif level which is an elected position.

If Dans out of line, of if he's stirring up too much **** and people bitch about it, he'll become a PITA to his boss: no boss wants a PITA employee.

If you talk to the right person, Dan will get an assfull from his boss behind closed doors. :awesomework:

You are 100% correct.

Unfortunatly, it's easier to bitch and whine about it than actaully do something that could help remedy the problem.

How many people complaining on here have actaully written letters to document their concerns with the guy's boss? If you're not willing to help fix the problem, why cry about it?

So who has easy access to the contact info for officer Dan's boss? I haven't had the pleasure of meeting this guy, so I have nothing to write about. Just thinking that it might make it easier for other folks to get their first hand experiences in front of the right set of eyes.

The gravel road up to the staging area needs to be graded.. I had to put my truck in 4wd just to have some control. (towing my jeep)

It would be good to have the info for his direct reporting structure, such as what station he was based out of, and who his capt. is.

is it possible that Dan's boss is ordering him to go up and ticket everyone possible? if so you might have a hard time complaining up above. I know in the city, the traffic cops are not the ones who're the assholes, but just doing their jobs commanded by above. I've heard quotes like: "you're writing tickets today. No warnings!" before.

But who knows, I've never met this this guy, and he could just be doing vigilante power tripping... in that case fire his ass =D

So I was up at Evan's yesterday and ran into the Federali's. All they were concerned about was the FS pass.. We had about 5-6 people in our group and 2 didn't have passes. So they had to run back down the mountain and get one.

But overall the they were very pleasant and didn't really hassle us. Didn't check bumper hieghts or none of that crap. Also that was the only time we saw them...

If they were asking to FS passes then It wasn't Copper Dan. He doesn't care about passes he just care about rigs drivability. Mud flaps, flares, bumper height, and lights.

There are fifteen LEOs on rotation from various departments and two or three FS guys that patrol the area. Fourteen of the LEOs and all the FS guys are cool. Your two buds were allowed to run back down and get passes. They were not written tickets for having already been there without it. I'll bet nobody caught any guff over their rigs either.

It's just Dan. If you had a good experience with law enforcement of any kind at Evans then you DID NOT run into Dan.

ive had that experience, where a few didn't have a pass and they let one guy run to wilkinson and get them, and your right didn't look at the rigs on trailers or anything, just wanted passes.
