Finally....Da new rig..

Your Toyota is taking shape Mike. Question tho, are you going to rub the bumper with your tires at full turn?

Good question--never thought of that.. I will have to measure. Worse case I have to redo it and just make it match the chassis width more closely.

Toyotas owners wish for 60s. Usually they get them when they switch to a jeep.

No they don't!! they have longfields their "stronger than 60's" and they weigh less and have more diff clearance for snow wheeling..
:haha::haha::haha:

You can make a toy stronger but will never be stronger than a 60...

I know.. you must never hear the toy is just as strong arguments, or that toy is better than 60's because they're lighter and have more diff clearance so they snow wheel better arguments. Toyotas are like Jeeps imo, once you get all the Toyota out of them their pretty good :redneck:

All the time on pirate :haha:

So I got tabs made and the rear shocks were pretty simple and straight forward.

Now the fronts--that turned out not so easy. I didn't realize the top of the body was as wide as it was and the outer tubework on the shock mount kinda hit the shock--really good. So I went and lopped the outside of the mount off and worked on rebuilding it around the shock body this time.

So I got the tube work all redone and ya can't hardly tell but then again it was only 1/2" wider lol.

I made the lower tabs and this is where things really started looking like something. Pulled the lower frame holding fixtures and raised the chassis off the ground. Sat back and just stared at it for a while and realized what I had....

Checked the rear and yup no clearance issues but I figured everything should be just dandy back there...

The front had no issues except what I figured and that would be the front driveshaft. I toyed with it and ended up raising the pinion angle which of course threw my caster off--just glad I only tacked the knuckles on.

So there is no way for a 1 piece front shaft--even at 1" wide it will kill the edge of the tranny so I have a line on a guy who did a front 2 piece shaft on clarks bravo 2 chassis and it worked out perfect. Till then the front can sit and move onto getting the rear shock mounts burned in and a couple cross supports done.
