Halon is a cfc and they stopped making it in 1994, all of the halon that is available today is recycled or from what was left over. My vote would go with cold fire. I am a firefighter and we use foam on vehicle fires when there is a heavy fuel load. I also work for nascar track safety and at the track we also use foam in all of our water cans along with in our tank water. Foam works, that's why we use it.

For comparison, what size is the one you pictured? Also, since Coldfire uses volume measurements, what size conventional extinguisher (weight based, 1lb, 2lb, 5lb, etc) would you say it most compares to physical size wise. I'm trying to get a mental image of how big these are to gauge what I can best fit in my rig and where.

For comparison one site I was on listed the following sizes:
2.5 lb: 15 1/2" x 3"
5 lb: 15 1/4" by 4 1/4"

Found this description.

2 Liter Cold Fire Extinguisher withindustrial double bungee mounting bracket. This unit is very close to the size of a 5lb ABC fire extinguisher.

So the 2L ~ 5lb
1L ~ 2.5lb

Not fuel rated and other stuff I seen like this is not recommended for fuel.

I just bought fuel and trans fluid lines from summit, same stuff WOD sells. Black Nylon outer webbing and SS wire inside hose. AN fittings.

The Mil grade coldfire mix is good to -50º. Any idea what the regular stuff is rated for?

I probably won't ever be out wheeling in freezing or below weather anyhow, just curious really. I currently have 2 2.5lb ABC extinguishers in my Jeep but I'm not at all opposed to something better that will put a fire out faster.

The standard will freeze at 32, just like water. Our application requires the cold weather formula.
