fool sized

little update
still no where near as bad ass 90% of the builds here

don't mind the "panhard"

full droop. im gonna have to limit it a bit for sure

ride height

its not all that tall. im 6 foot 2 for reference

well gonna triangulate the uppers.. maybe the lowers depending on how it handles!
it did ok with the radius arm. its very stable but it can be better!

Turned out pretty nice!

Couple of small things I noticed. Normally people mount their shocks outside of their shock hoops, or directly in line with the tube and the bottom mounts. Appears your top shock mount is inside of the hoop. Any particular reason why?

The panhard should be as close to parallel to the earth / flat as possible. Is that ride height? You may get some lateral travel of your axle when both sides are drooped or compressed at the same time.

Again, looks good overall. Just a couple of thoughts I had. Keep it up!

jokes on me guys. After looking at it for hour, flexing it, thought id like to try this set up. Its getting cut apart again. bigger lower links and triangulated instead of this radius arms. im sure its good application for some trucks, racing or still being street driven but ill never need to.

Oh well this truck Is a big learning curve for me. I have no experience dealing with links and have no one giving me a hand lol. Oh well time to try something else

.500 lowers

anyone here drop afew leaf springs in the rear and run air shocks and trac bars? I have these laying around and might try it

Well here it is, got the truss mostly done, links mounted, hope everything adds up properly... next is mount the coil overs again test flex it..

Biggest problem I ran into it not being able to have enough room under there to run my exhaust anymore... so I changed the game once again...

also played with a full body.. I think that's also a go

cant tell but that's everything mounted

no replacement for displacement my ass

Absolutely. You are building and trying new things we have all been there.
Ask whatever there will be no flaming.

well not not bad for my first set up... everything clears perfect

ride right on 39.5s loller.gif

next is pull it all out, weld it, plate it, paint it. build everything for my hydro steer. then start fabing up the twinturbos

Looking alot better then the radius arm set up thumb.gif I'd skip the turbos and box that frame in first, that c-channel is gonna make it really hard to keep that thing from ripping its self apart. I fought it on my waggy when it was leafs all around, I boxed the straight sections under the floor and it made a huge difference even with the last 3-4 feet still open.

Re: fool sized

Probably a stupid question, but what is this?

Changing it up a bit running 1 single turbo! It's gonna happen but plans are to box the frame for sure

got the 2.5x16s, moved all the shock mounts, finished the truss and brackets. little more boxing and building a driveshaft. running brakes lines and now for all the steering..

here is how she is now

im very happy with how its comin along

ya I know im a slow building lol but this is a huge learning curve for me ;D

while being busy with life I haven't done mutch

got the engine hoop kind of done, mounted coil over res and trying to find a spot to mount the pse res

still got to pull the lower tierod off

shes come a long ways..
got some small headers from a s10 small block swap. they should do the trick.

6 years ago if im correct

planning on running some exhaust tube on the outside of the frame for the rad in the back. rad got pulled out and cut the bumper up and added a few tubes for clearance

well been pickin away at her again!
she runs, moves, steers just don't stop! still have to run lines.

Between the front and bobing the box im at 28 inches shorter lol, just building brackets for it now

All of the steering works awesome! just need to bleed it a little more.

need rear springs still.

and have to figure out what you guys are running for coolent lines to rear mounted rads!?

cheap yet affective steering shaft!

got a bad taste of cali lean going on lol

just waiting for paint

Looks good. For my lines to the rear radiator, I ran a mix of 1.25" flexible radiator hose from the parts store snaked through the engine bay to 1.25" EMT from Lowes/HD/Etc that ran under the cab to some more flexible radiator hose to the radiator. I used some 1.25" tubing to connect everything (you can even run a weld bead to ensure the hose doesnt slip off), however i never had any issues with generic double hose clamps. Worked great.

Did you ever flex the radius arms? Also can you take more pics of your upper frame mounts and the clearance of the upper links.

only the 1 time, dident like it so I went away from that :woot:
