Fox Coilover shaft problem

Took the rig out for a test run yesterday and when i got home and inspected it i noticed the passenger coilover was leaking and noticed that the shaft is grooved up and scuffed up pretty bad on 1 side...mainly around the ride height location on the shaft. it wasnt this way before i went on the ride. what would have caused this? the shocks are fox 2.0 remote resi 14" travel. i know i will have to replace the shaft and seals but trying to figure out what else i need to order

I don't think he's asking where to buy parts, but rather what caused it.

Can you post up some pics of the damage to the shaft?

here are a few pics....hard to see but where it was wearing it actually flat spotted the shaft. i was able to order a new shaft, new bearing housing assembly,seal kit and end cap....that pretty much takes care of anything that the shaft rides on so hopefully this wont happen again!! upon inspection the bearing was worn and grooved up also on the 1 side. would the angle the coilovers are mounted cause this?

That is an older style shaft, not sure what would have caused it other than worn shaft bearings.

you mention that its an older style shaft......will the new shaft i ordered still work?

Cycle your suspension up and down on both sides and make sure your coilover ant n a bind or your tire dont hit it at lock u should b able 2 turn it a little

got all the new parts today.... going to put it all back together tomorrow. Do i need to disassemble the resi since i didnt drain the fluid from the shock body? or can i just fill the shock body and reinstall the shaft assembly. i saw that if you drain the resi and body you need to bleed the system
