Friday again - Weekend plans

Tonight- chill by the fire and ps3 with juan hung

Saturday-install full hydro on mimi (maybe throw some snow balls)

Sunday-go into work and set the mill up for a rush job we have coming monday, then chill

Got home at midnight. Buggy work all night. Got my rec skins 50% on. Fuggin **** I'll never have to replace again.

Hold up was, my rear axle breather tube was broke off in the housing. So I tried and tried to ez-out. Finall said fawk it, drilled it, and retapped it for a 90degree fitting. Get the fitting almost in and the broken off piece thats stuck now moves, you know since I tapped its ass. So then extract that and repeat the drill and tap with the next size larger 90degree fitting.

Luckily I had the foresite at the parts store to buy contingiency parts, so no multiple trips for me. And one of those ricer mini K&n's for the vent. Came out slick.

got that driveshaft hoop dealio banged out gonna hopefully be able to work on it tomarrow but i think matt's kicked outta his house??????? ::) owell we'll see tomarrow--that would suck if I cannot get to my ****.

MLK day after weekend update. Almost 40 hours of buggy time in since Friday at quiting time. My wife hates me. I quit to sleep a few hours each night 2-3am-6:30am, and for church and brunch on Sunday morning.

Buggy is damn near ready. I had some big setbacks that held everything up. I blew a couple relays, and had zero power going anywhere. 1st I thought the batteryw as dead. I put it on the charger, then when I went to take it off, I didn't shut the charge off just unhooked. Got a couple sparkes and my Optima red top was red alright. 12-16" flames coming off the top immediately. Luckily i had gloves on, and patted it out before the whole thing burned down and took the shop with it. Got my rec skins 90% done. Call me stupid, but I put 1/8 aluminum on it for all but races. It I tear it up, the buggy had better be destroyed, and the wieght difference isn't that much more. Vs, the lexan vabrates. Custom fabbed a bunch of ****, cut all my lexan for everything. And have almosty got it reassembled. But not painted, prolly do that in February after this next wheeling trip.

Got the Trep's off the beadlocks, and have the red's on them. Need to clean and replosih them. Need to ez-out all of the threaded inserts and reinstall new insets when they get here hopefully thursday-friday.

Now for the big ****. Anyone every heard of Pump Rub on a Duramax? Yeah me either. A few weeks ago, I noticed I had some fluid on the underside of my truck. Looked like Transfer case gasket. Dropped the d-lines, and pulled the case. New gasket $12.
Yesterday realize i have more fluid down there. Find out about something called Pumprub. there is a metal clip that hold the pump in the bttom of the transfercase on the duramaxs with the auto allisons. The clip will break and wear a hole in the magnesium case.

So now I've got a new back half of a case, and a fix kit being overnighted. Currently have the ****ing thing covered in JBweld.
****ing GM. But you know $600 today, but I haven't had a payment for a few years so i suppose I'm doing good.

FAWK!

huge news got FIRE! Got the buggy to start tonight. I was scared shitless I'd fried the brain or something worse while welding.

fuse, $33 relay from stealership, missing ground, 10+ hours going over every piece of wiring on my chassis. Tonight right before I had to leave I got her to light off. Fawk, I'm so relieved.

Nice work man, I am sure you are glad you got it started. Man we need some pics of those new tires mounted! Sucks about the Dmax, I have never heard of that problem with them, but at least you diagnosed it

someone tell joe. he might need to put the update in it before he rubs a hole and has to buy the $300ish case half to boot

Heres a thread on it with pics. My hole was very obvious once I took this pic witht he circle on it, and yep. i had a hole right there. big sucker too.

The upgrade kit is $250. Do it before you have a hole. If not add $275 for a half a case. Damn things are magnesium.

Big sucker hole. My case full a week ago, and I put in 1.2 quarts tonight. Its a 2 quart case BTW. The underside of my truck looks like the valdez but in red.
I Wire brushed the area, carb cleanered the **** out of it. Then JB Welded a big goober on it, and then took some Blue painters tape and taped over it to hold the JB Weld in position while it sets up.

I ordered the Fix kit & Case half from Merchant Automotive out of Holland MI. They were waiting on a couple pieces but should ship on wednesday.

The ****ed upthing is I saw the symptoms of a leak, just misdiagnosed as the seal. Luckily I'm loau and a kid I work with heard me talking about it and told me of "Pump Rub". I'm looking forward to it. Should be able to knock it out in a few hours. In and out on the transfer last time was an hour.
