You could always run a 'floating' pickup, kinda like a chain saw runs; but you may have to omit the gauge sender....or is your plan to run the fuel supply line off the bottom of the tank?

plan is to run a fuel supply line off the bottom of the tank. trying to find a filler neck and cap that seals because i might roll it and dont want fuel spilling out of a vented cap. so i should only need one line off the bottom and a roll over vent line from the top correct? carbeurated cj with no return. swapping to a holley blue pump with reg. will a 350 block off plate work on a 258?

Boy is my age showing. Kegs for fuel tanks were pretty standard hot rod stuff in the '50s and '60s. I never did it, but I saw quite a few.

I don't know if the old HOT ROD archives are available on line or not. You might check with one of the hot rod speed shops. I am sure that guys that are doing retro rods are still doing the keg as fuel tank thing.

Are you using an aluminum or stainless keg? The aluminum ones are really hard to find.

if i use a stainless tank i can weld it at my buddies if i use an alum ill either have to have it done or wait till i can at school...

Did you ever figure out the block off plate question?
I'm converting my 258 over to a electric fuel pump and I'm trying to find a block off plate.
