Full hydraulic steering help

This may be a stupid question. I'm running tg hydro assist, single ended ram. I'm thinking about going full hydro. Can I use everything I've got now, just get a orbital, and everything work correctly? :dunno:

Bigger pump maybe?

I'm running tg's 1450 pump now. Think I may have to go with the 1650?

Interesting question, I'm not the resident genius on steering, so I'll let someone else answer that lol.

I think I remember reading that the 1450 pump will power full hydraulic, but just not as ample as the 1650 pump will. :dunno:

Think you will need a bigger cylinder. Most assist cylinders won't give you enough power.

Ok...so after all this I believe the orbital/steering valve is the issue. It got a lil worse last time I was out. This time it was right off the trailer when it was like 20 degrees outside. Once it warmed up/cycled for a couple times it was good to go.

Where is everyone getting their valve's from? I'm not doing any desert racing, MAYBE get up to 20mph on the roads and just have your run of the mill stock PS pump / 2x8 single ended ram.

I think I would like the type of valve that would NOT center itself. I can see that being useful in a technical situation.

I got mine from PSC I sent them my old one and my pump and had them test both and they did so for free then they sent me a new valve not sure they were the cheapest but I don't know much about them! So I needed help and they came through.

Tony, the self centering valves don't center themselves just sitting like it sounds in the description. They will center when going down the road. I got my last one off eBay new. I believe it was 325 or so. I can send you a link if you want. I had one that would dart the opposite direction when turning. Sumbitch was scary on the road up at windrock.

Yes this is right on the self centering valves. It has some normal steering feel on the trail too but it will not go back to center sitting still.

Depends on how fast you want it to turn, and the side of your ram.
Psc has the formula on there tech page.
