With the price of diesel fuel 50 to 70 cents a gallon more then gas we decided to sell our 05 Dodge 3500. So I put it on Criags List Friday night and it was not on there 10 minutes and a guy from Portland called he was in town to look at another rig. He ask us to bring it to his motel so he could take a look at our truck any way he gave me a deposit and said he would get us the balance the next day which went fine. Any way we went buy the local Toyota dealer to look a trucks and got a quote on new 07 Tundra double cab and came home to talk it over well we decided to drive over to Grants Pass to the dealership there and we bought a 07 Tundra double cab TRD,5.7 V8,4x4,loaded for 1300 bucks cheaper then Lithia here in Medford plus we got more of a truck. They had to dealer trade for it so we will not get it fot a few days. I will get some photos up when we pick it up.

Yea the dually was so big and a pain in the ass around town so it was just rotting away in the driveway it only had 7300 miles on it. We originally bought it to haul a big camper to travel in but just after we got the truck is when fuel prices went nuts so those plans never happened and the super spendy camper we bought turned into a nightmare that the company would not repair and then went bankrupt. I loved the truck as it was my dream truck but it need to go to someone who would use it.

I don't know if you're new to diesels or not, but this happens every year with the prices.. Sometimes it's lower, sometimes it's higher. You just have to figure it the benefits are worth it to you or not. Congrats on the purchase regardless :awesomework:

No this was my third smoker. I had 2 Powerstrokes a 94 and a 97 before I bought this Cummins. Down here the price difference is very little even in the summer months. Diesel was just a few cents cheaper for maybe a month last year. I quess it's because we are so far from any big bulk plants.

I look at owning a diesel many ways. One, my fuel mileage is about twice that of my F250 with a 460 was. Two, it tows loads much better. Three, I can have fun smoking out people. :redneck:

The price of fuel isnt a factor with me. Its like people who buy hybrids.. they spend so much more to buy a car that gets better mileage, yet the money spent on the difference would have bought way more gas. To each his own. :corn:

yea I can understand those reason. Driving a dually around on a daily basis isn't fun. And since you don't have the large camper anymore it probably isn't needed.

Damn right

dont drive in seattle much do ya:D

I have avoided "Seattle" like the plague everyday of my life, regardless of what I've been driving.

I had already hit the quote button to reply the same thing and then read you beat me to it :haha::haha::haha:

The thing with us is we are retired and its not just diesel or fuel prices its everything is going up in price. We are on a fixed income so when prices go up we have to cut back. Just our health insurance costs us $1100 a month and we can't shop it because my wife has gloucoma. Plus thank you Dodge the price I sold the Dodge for I paid cash for a very nice 385hp 4x4, very comfortable double cab Tundra.

I don't care how much diesel is. I just want to blow black smoke all over people. I laid down a cloud up a hill today and someone actually swerved to avoid it.

and people like that are going to ruin it for the rest of us. The EPA is after us, aftermarket wise. It was all over Sema this year.

And I don't have to drive a dually on a regular basis. But it certainly isn't a "joy" when I get behind the wheel of my Dad's 05.

I also stay away from Seattle as much as possible... Same with Tacoma.
