gave up on diesel

what's the deal with intentionally blowin' huge clouds of smoke when there's cars behind you?

I've noticed this one fella on my commute home from Bellevue north to Lynnwood who, while in stop n go traffic will just bomb a REAL thick cloud of very black smoke out every time people start to move again. Either the truck is really f'd up or it's intentional. I'm guessing the latter.

I'm not doggin' on diesels cuz if I could justify it, I'd have one but I just don't understand why some diesel owners feel the need to do this. Is this the cool thing to do? Possibly a little ego boost when you can temporarily change the color of the pearl white Volvo sitting behind your pipes? Do you by chance look over both shoulders to see if you got a reaction? I doubt the other commuters on the road are impressed. But, :awesomework: anyways.

I DD my dually every day on my long commute from Marysville to Arlington :redneck:

I used to DD my Crew Cab F350 PSD every day from Alger to West Seattle with no issues. Parking a dually is no problem.. either pull in so you can exit the other side, or back in. No biggie. It's actually a fun game to pin some dumb asses door almost shut with my tire just because they cant park between the lines like everyone else. :fawkdancesmiley:

I am with you on this topic, as I believe the excessive black smoke put out by some diesels give us a bad name. MOST diesel freaks love rolling coal. BTW I drive a dieasl also, so I guess I am part of the prob(Tho mine doesnt hardly smoke at all):corn: .

I guess not everyone can be manly enough to DD a dually :fawkdancesmiley:

Kinda like old guys who can't drive 4x4's cause it's too tall to get into (damn smilies don't work for me, but I'm flippin you off too)

Red, I dunno, didn't hear it with my own one and a half ears.. It's all over da CompD site from a few guys who attended.

I don't smoke out people just because, But I don't mind letting someone have it when they're being an idiot on the street either.

seems like I've heard that a person's car is a reflection of them in some way...

(or something like that)

not sure if I subscribe to this line of thinking but there are definitely a lot of cars out there that make me ask "what on God's great earth would make you buy or drive that (especially when there are so many other better options)" no matter what level of vehicle. one that comes to mind is the Pontiac Aztec

...sorry, a bit off topic...

don't know that I've met Brad so I don't think I want to confirm that assessment on a public forum

however, maybe this new insight will help me in the future to recognize yet another individual while in the company of NW Wheeler folk

me: hi, I'm Terry, you must be Brad.
Brad: How'd ya know?

:hi:

just kiddin'
