Getting a late start (AC's XRRA Build)

Re: Getting a late start

I really have to just get over it 'cause it doesn't matter, but the fact that it's not symmetrical is killin' me. laughing1

Re: Getting a late start

Yeah ,It's crooked.Thats one of the hardest things about building it.Remember Ric Dermo in Mo,can't get that car of my mind.Made a few changes in size to fit a taller driver. It has three splices in the frame and each one has a 6" slug cut from I 1/4" od and 11/16" id link mat.All the main frame is 188 dom and the rest is 120 dom.No slugs in the 188.The other car is built the same way and it has held up very good so far. It's all trial and screw up and do it again.

Re: Getting a late start

I'm looking at doing a transverse rear engine buggy with a 3rd as the tcase, (ala Rick Deremo and Badlands apache) and putting the seats on the floor like that. man, the only thing that's getting me is having my legs straight out in front of me or even above my ass and trying to run pedals. is it uncomfortable?

Re: Getting a late start

I've sat in it one time,it was pretty comfy. If the seat is right it's O-TAY.

Re: Getting a late start

Kelly Tim and Adam are both big ol boys too... if they can fit in it, I imagine guys our size would be pretty dang comfy laughing1

Re: Getting a late start

There for a little while I thought we were going to put the gas pedal above the brake, picture that with one ass check cocked up going over a jump.LOL.

I really like this build. It looks really really cool yet it's simple enough for me to understand. I look forward to seeing the links, shocks, and axles mounted. At this point I don't see where everything goes.

The Spidertrax housings came in today, just a few more parts and it on again,

Not much going on,waiting on outer and inner C's and rear spindals.Working on the crawler this week.Check out the steering.

Do you have an axle jig for building the 9" housings?

We'll have more on the steering after its tested a little more.We will have the inner seals, rear spindals and other machine work done to the axles at a machine shop. They'll be ready to weld after we get them back, they have to freeze ad heat and all that other tec stuff.Waiting on rear spindals and front C's.Times ticking.
