Getting Flex From 85 k5

if you just wanna buy springs the tuff country easy rides are the way to go....if ya wanna change stuff then go with 52" springs up front and 56" rears...in the pic below im running 52s and 56s shackle flip in the rear with longer shackles, and the front of the rig is touching the wall...

yes shanes (leadfoot067) rig flexes mad, but oddly i have pics touching the wall front and backwards, doing just what i explained, like i said, depends on how freewayable you want it :D

i run 4" and 39.5 tsl's lots of trimming but nothin too horrible and its nice and stable wouldnt want to go real high if you can help it

X2 about the tuff country lift. I had the 4wp's procomp cheap 6inch lift springs on the front of my old chevy and they rode like crap and had no flex. I ran them for over 2 years and they never broke in.
I then bought the tuff countrys and man what a diffrence. It is worth the couple of extra bucks to get the good springs first.
There is also a guy on here that just got done building a similar rig on a budget, I think his name on here is 66stepside. He also did a real good write up over on the 4x4network.com. His name is Grande over there. Good luck..

i like leadfoot's setup a lot but i will be doing lots of driving on the freeway will this cause too much give while i drive at high speeds?
thanks

There is a guy in the for sale section selling some skyjacker 6inch springs for $100.. Might be worth checking out.
my experience is that stiffjackers flex like ranchos, not much. great for long life lift but poopy for flex.

Good to know.. I dont think anything can be as bad as the procraps I use to run. I heard that Superlift is a good setup. Lots of small leaves packed together instead of a couple of thick ones.

Shackle flip and remove the overload leaf from the stock spring pack. that will let the spring negative arch.

my "procraps" if you will are the same thing, more thinner leaves i beleive the rears are around 8-9 leaves but they are super thin compared to stock ones
ill take my truck out and get some flex shots this week hopefully

drives fine on the freeway...i have 52s up front....the only negative thing i have from the soft springs is body roll...something ive gotten used to...
