2WD, 4WD doesn't matter, the only difference is how bad you can get them stuck....:awesomework:

I used to tow with my dads 2wd chevy. It got stuck at every campsite. Level flat ground and it would get stuck. Always a fiasco to unload, unhitch or whatever and get the truck unstuck then load up again. I'd rather have a crappier 4wd than a nicer 2wd.
Mine is 2wd. At the time I didn't want to deal with a transfer case and front driven axle for maintenance reasons. To do it again I'd go 4x4; there has been a few times I wish I had it.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is boat launches. A steep, slick launch can demand low range and 4x4.
