Golden Mountain Off-road Park opening

I went Saturday and had a great time. It was good to be back at GMP. It looked like a decent turnout for a one day ride. I found a four LED square pod light and left it at the entrance building in case anyone here lost one.
Glad you got a chance to go back.

The 11pm thing is a bummer.. that means I'll drink too much at camp and have a horrible hangover in the heat the next day

GMP was super dry this weekend. Like unholy dusty dry. Took the kid and we rode saturday and came home sunday am. Can't wait to get back up there the owners are killing it with the upgrades.
They are going above and beyond to give this a shot. We try to go support the park once a month, our group all had prior obligations last month, but looking forward to 11/23. If any of you see the beat up pathfinder Mark on here used to own say hello to me.

I've been pleasantly surprised by owners efforts for the offroad side of things considering they didn't originally want to mess with the offroad side of things.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe they are realizing that it is less upkeep than a dirt track and the participants are easier to keep happy.

Maybe so. Plus once the offroading starts, lots of the maintenance for the wooded areas get taken care of by the the offroaders too. So better to have an income stream from offroaders, than just having the wooded areas of that land sitting around.

We stayed the weekend at GMP, 4 of us pretty much had the park to ourselves Friday, ended up with about 10 rigs in our group Saturday, great ride.

no kidding, the facebook comments are kinda shitty from the dirt track fans .I guess they are fans, no idea why someone would be an asshole about an owner of a private track opening when they are ready. gotta admit though, people in the offroad side were being kinda shitty also when SFWDA was involved with the initial opening events.

Either way, I hope having involved and interested owners is a GOOD thing for GMP, and it stays open for a long time (long enough for me to get another rig)

I noticed that on the dirt track racer comments too. Maybe they have their drawers in a wad since the plan was to open dirt track first and then offroad.
