GPS what do you have?

With all the neat new electronic toys we have, lets not forget the first rule and that is to have a current paper map of the area you are in and a compass to orientate you.

Like most all electronic gadgets, they tend to fail when they are needed most.

Have fun, be safe, light the fires and kick those tires...lets go exploring !!!

I carry a washington gazeter sort of map when I am out, but it doesnt have the detail I want in some cases. And yes I know to have the basics.

I think I will most likely go with the 60csx.

With the parks and rec maps and get the Topo DVD which gives me an extra state for maps.

Why support REI, they support the guys that are trying to shut us down:mad:

When you find someplace that stands behind the product where I can return it for any reason please show me. That is 70 bucks cheaper then anywhere else I have found.

It will be used and possibly abused, I want a good no hastle warrentie.

As for supporting REI and the wilderness societly stuff, well I enjoy both Wheeling and HIking 100 percent but I do not agree with either group 100 percent, both sides have their blinders on for some things. And no this is not directed at everyone here, it is directed at those that do nothing to protect what we have as wheelers and also preserving the outdoors for future generations to use.

If you want more start another tread elsewhere please.

I purchased the DVD instead of the card, should be able to load the maps on to the gps and it gives me another state and a hard copy of it. If not I will return it and get the card instead.

Well I got it, I have started to load maps onto it. Now I just have to figure out the software side of things.

It dosnt like being away from the windows at my place :(

Let the learning curve begin!
