How big of a hammock do you have?

Try laying diagonally across the "ridge", your upper body will be in the nest on one side/end, and your legs in the nest on the other side/end.

It's an ENO Doublenest. Looks like the one above.
I tried doing the diagonal thing... I guess I just have to hang it again and try different placements.

My ass is cheap but the Enos are nice and I'll end up with one eventually. Here's my hobo camp from last weekend.

some people just can't get comfortable in them.

my friend Mike is basically a cripple after sleeping in his, never has been able to get comfortable.

Sometimes I'll hang mine really slack and kind of wallow around in the nest, other times I'll string it up bow string tight and wrap up like a mummy/pre-packed bear taco.

Just napped in it 4 a couple hours and slept like a baby. Everyone sleeps different and ya just gotta figure out what works best for ya. What straps do you hang from? The ENO atlas straps give you a lot more choices on how to hang it.

keep an eye on groupon for the Yukon ones. They are identical but groupon sells them for like $20 from time to time.

I just ordered one of those Yukon ones to keep in my truck. I already have an ENO doublenest for winter and a grand trunk single for summer so I have something to compare it to. I'll let you guys know how I like the new one.

If it is tight on your shoulders hang it with more sag. The straps should never have less than a 30 degree angle. Some people like to tie them up tight, but I have read that without having at least that much angle on the straps you run the risk of having your hammock fail. I have hung both ways and really prefer more sag. It allows you to lay on a 45 and almost be parallel to the ground.

I hang mine as tight as I can. I logged another night in the back yard last night. Slept great.

Looking at the cost of a room @ GMP Hardline Ride, I think I am just going to pony up and get a hammock and sleep under the stars. I want to go ahead and get a rain fly as well. Might toss it up a few nights by my pond, just to get used to it.

I'm down 10 pounds from last weekends pooping and puking fiasco. Hell, I still haven't been able to find my vent covers. Looks like I am going to have to just buy whole new vents with inserts or nothing. I think I will have a single axle trailer built to tow behind it before it becomes the buggy hauler.

Bringing this back up to the top.

Bought a ENO doublenest and have used it a lot, slept in it a couple times and laid around the house. What is everyone doing for warmth? During the summer i used a very light blanket (no idea where my light sleeping bag is) and it worked well. Winter is coming though and i was looking at under quilts wanted to get everyone's thoughts on them before i chunked out another $100 on this set up. Hell i could have bought a nice tent and air mattress for what i got in this, but it is super comfy and i enjoy lounging around the back yard and out at my parents place in it.

I have 2 under quilts. One is an absurdly expensive zero degree rated down one and the other is an ENO Ember 2 under quilt that is a great addition and was $100. Makes it much more comfortable. I use it down to about 40 and then transition to the big one. Ive used the zero degree one in single digit, windy, snowy weather and been toasty. If you don't plan on going that cold, the ember and a good bag are all you need.

Get a big ass sleeping bag and put it on over the outside of the hammock. Super warm.

I only do this in teen/single digit temps.

Otherwise I use a small "kid size" self inflating sleeping pad to keep my shoulders/butt from getting cold from being pressed against the hammock
