Cornfuzzled yet again...
Hangover Run, Whatcom Co...Pics up!!!....
Well, turned out to be a GREAT day, despite some carnage early on!I FORGOT MY DAMN CAMERA ON THE FRIDGE THIS AM!!! (Don't worry, others got plenty of pics!) Started out with 11 rigs; We all met at the Hungry Bear for some breaky---Thanks again for breakfast Duck Dodgers:awesomework: !!! From there we all fueled up, and headed for the North Fork area to see if we could make it up Slide, or Racehorse....about the time I backed my rig off the trailer, I heard a noise coming from behind me---Japerry's 700r4 bellhousing cracked almost in two!!! Well, all was not lost, as one of our other guys trailered his rig, and it's more street legal than mine so we loaded Jakob's Runner...he and his girl jumped in a couple rigs and off we went!!!
Got to the first Road to head up Racehorse, and couldn't get very far as the snow was SLOPPY wet---those that made it up there turned around and headed down only to find Jesse had sheered his left front locking hub studs, and he lost the hub!!! We took a ziplock bag and zip-tied and duct taped the bag on to protect the bearings (which worked for the rest of the day!!!:cheer: ) and he ran 3whl drive(lockrited front) for the duration..

Having been beaten by the snow at North Fork, we all headed down, and ended up heading to Sumas Mtn to see if it was any better...about half the rigs peeled off at the highway, leaving 6 rigs to attempt our next adventure.WHAT A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The snow started coming down, and what was already there was nice!!!We got started after a bite to eat at the bottom, and two of the 6 rigs decided to turn around for reasons unknown...this left myself(leading the way) with Japerry and Jim (club member with Red 4Runner---currently under major OH at my place)riding with me, Jesse (yellow Yota in our club), Duck Dodgers (red TJ in our club)and two passengers, and Jayson (Subota also from our club) with DodyDamage riding bitch!!! :haha: ; We got going at a pretty good clip-made it approx 3.5 miles up and the road ahead of us was almost a virgin!!!:cheer: (really old tracks that were barely noticeable) ...Needless to say I went for it!!! The ol Sami just kept on a trudgin---came to another intersection where NO ONE had gone up---at this point we were pushing 3+ ft of snow!!!We probably made 10 attempts trying to make forward progress, but couldn't, and by this time the other three had made their way up to where we were...Jesse promptly buried his "3wheeler" in the deep stuff, and I fell off the path; trying to back down to the intersection, I ended up high-centered on the inside of the corner, and didn't even get to hard ground!!!had to winch my self out sideways!!! ( I don't care what anyone thinks of MileMarker winches---mine yet again has prevailed!!!:cheer: ) Once we got unstuck, it was pretty much dark and we decided to head down for safety reasons.
Sorry for the longwinded writeup:redneck: , but I wanted to share the day with ya'll!!! Again, all in all we had a great time and everyone made it out safely!!! And I'm sure D.D. and B.D. will post up pics from the day!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer::corn: :corn: :corn:
