Harness selections

As for cam lock vs standard latch.I have been in a rig where the cam lock popped unlatched once. I couldn't tell you if it failed to latch internally or was due to my own. But my prefence is a latch because you can see it latched 100% and doesn't take anything to know to use it..

So are they being shipped to me dale?

some folks dont give a **** to read what you write.

That bother you?

:haha: Nope! Funny the important part that jaws missed wasn't written by me... :;

One thing I don't get is the 2" lap belts. I've seen people post how they like them better and that they are easier to adjust but is there something I'm missing? I've always ran 3" and been perfectly fine with them. We only had our lap belts on when we wrecked the truck last year and I had some pretty deep bruising on my thigh from the belt. I can only imagine how bad it would have been with a thinner belt to not spread out the pressure. :eeek:

EDIT: Crash that's unpossible everyone knows cam locks are infallible, they have more moving parts so they must be better! :redneck:

I like being able to "see" my latch aswell. I have no experience with cam locks at all. Just like to see what is going on firsthand. I have always had hook latch type 5 points.

I think the 2 VS 3 inch belt issue might be a size/weight to belt width ratio kinda thingy!:redneck:

Kinda moot anyways. I am mostly caught in just the lap belt anyways. Bad habbits I guess.

One thing I have been doing recently--running one shoulder belt. Sure its not as good as both but you can still retain yourself in any mild accidents of mishaps.

But I agree I like to see the latch assy.

Cam locks aren't legal for KOH, and pretty sure that goes for any of the desert racing associations.

They belong in clean enviroments like race cars imo...

I have non-suspension Kirkey seats, Camlock harness's, non-standard steering wheel set-up, etc........****, I'm just waiting to die I guess.

So does the OP and all the nay sayer's wear their harness's at all times? Shoulder belts too?

This cam-lock guy does......:hi:

Your so light weight I bet a couple bungie cords would hold you in :flipoff:

I was actually going to mention something about this. I am willing to bet if marks body mass was alot more--the abilty to have harm done would increase.

There was a thread on POR about a guy who had the very same setup setas/belts as I do and came off a ledge. He ended up doing some nasty damage to the vertebrae in his back. The guy was about my build but maybe 30 lbs heavier.

On a serious note.....back/spine injuries scare the :puke: out of me. There are some obsticles I won't do anymore (wall face, covered with mud-sand) cause I don't want to get hurt.

My seating possition could be WAY better.

But my cam-lock harness's (and helmet) ensure I'm safe from everything else.:flipoff:

I wear all my belts all the time. I need to wear my helmet more offten. I seem to have trouble keeping my rig upright.

So what you're saying is that he was STILL skinny!

Yes, being shipped to you. I modified the order to get the velco sternum straps and changed to the 2" version. These are the latch types. Since Jackson't not going to be adult size for a while it seems that the 2" straps might serve him better.

I remember that deal, he got all sorts of messed up dropping off that ledge, so did his girlfriend and she was much smaller than he was if I remember right. Scary stuff indeed.

Wasn't that the same guy who thought he would have been fine with suspension seats?
