Sold/Expired Having cold start issues with your Powerstroke tow rig?

Re:

.. kool deal. . I'm going to try to do the wheel my self once I get the truck back

Thanks for your help on mine, your were spot on with the issue with the tank filter. :dblthumb:

WW2 makes a big difference. Ofcourse I swapped from a programmer to a 6 pos chip the at the same time as well.

Matt- Do you still recommend the FFD injectors?

I have a small issue where when my trucks sits a while it doesnt want to crank. I turn the key and it just clicks. I have tightened all cables for battery and starter. Usually if I turn the key back and forth enough times it finally decides to crank. Think it could be starter solenoid?

Also, do you know anything about 95' DT466 engines?

I know how the injection system works on the dt466. Lol. That's about it. I have not worked on the bigger stuff personally. As for the injectors, I have a few other options now bit can still get them from FFD.

Let me know if the stuff we talked about works for the starting problem!

How they starting this morning!? Almost as bad as last winter! Lol

i got a question for you mattman347 pretty sure I know the answer for one but the other issue confuses me abit. buddy of mine has a 06 f250 has egr delete and we just put in a new oil cooler due to oil temps being 40 degrees higher than the coolant in temp. oil temp is still high new cooler didn't fix it. that's the one that has me a little confuses. only thing I know to do is flush the system see if that help. also he's over pressuring his coolant reservoir. if he runs it long he starts blowing coolant out. reservoir is new and new cap. pretty sure he's gonna have a blown head gasket and he's getting compression into the cooling system. only reason I can see him over pressuring the 19lb cap. and now when he starts it has slight skip. just kinda double checking what I believe is wrong with it. thanks for the help

Sounds like a head gasket issue and I'll bet it's got a bunch of crap on the coolant system. Very weird it's still 40* higher on the oil temp after the cooler was changed though.

yea that's what had me scratching my head a little and I pretty much knew it was a headgasket I just was hopin I missed something hate doin 6.0 heads. last question you wouldn't happen to know where a good 99-01 7.3 motor is by chance? got a friend needing one and depending where you are located could probably get you the install job if you wanted.

There is a dude with a low mileage, but expensive 7.3 in auburn. Join the lee county big boys toys page on Facebook.

thank ya sir I owe you a cold one. a friend of mine is needing one in his 2001 6 speed told him I would see what I could dig up. I just don't have the time to swap it for him at the moment. his isn't down yet but he's looking to go ahead and find one for when it does

Little over 300000 and getting excessive blow by I tried tellin him let me take a look but he's got it in his head he wants to find another motor instead of redoin this one I'm an hour away from him so I haven't gotten to really look at the truck see what all was goin on said he wanted to find a motor told him I would see what I could do Oh and he owns a construction company so ain't highway miles constantly towin
