Header Wrap Questions

How close is the exhaust to the gasket area? Mine basically rubs it most of the way down the driverside. And of all the things that leaks on mine, the tranny doesn't leak out the pan area. Now how many quarts have I lost though the vent at the top of the dash??????? TOO DAMN MANY!

I think it is about 2-3" from the pan.....It doesnt leak right away. after I drive it for a while and then park it, it will start leakin a few days later (maybe one). I REALLY think it is the damn rubber gasket that comes with the filter kit/new trans pan. I have always had problems with the trans leakin w/ rubber gaskets.....I need to find a cork one......I have went through GALLONS of trans fluid. :dunno:

I cannot seem to keep my Th400 sealed either, I have used lots of rubber gaskets. I dont think cork is that great from stuff i have heard. I am very close to buying the RTV type sealant from dodge posted on Pirate, but rtv in a valve body = ****ed.

I ordered DEI from Summit, no idea if it's black, It's85% under plastic, so I really don't care. I just want it to work. I need to get an oil filter this weekend and do an early change if this wrap comes in and get this **** installed. I see the exhaust coming off and wrapping it off the bike. >:(

I run cork on all mine. I hate rubber

Well I might try cork, why not, never tried it, I have always thought it would be better than rubber in theory.
