Greg, I dig the bumper. You gonna put some tow points on the two little flat pieces next to the winch mount, or is that a receiver mount I see under the winch?

Haven't decided where I am going to put hooks yet. Yes, that is a receiver. It will hold the winch. I am going to make the winch portable so I can still put it on my Ford if needed.

So am I seeing this right then? Your winch is going to stick out in front of that vertical plate? I thought you were going to cut a fairlead hole there. Is there a way you can make it removeable and set it in behind that plate? I guess I'm not sure I'm seeing how the receiver is going to be used unless the winch is in front of that vertical plate. But then I am thinking you created that space behind the plate for the winch, otherwise what is that space for? Please explain so my slow brain can understand.

Don't worry, I will give you a thick cusion to sit on to make that plate a little more bareable on the bumps. :flipoff:
Yes, the winch is going to be behind the plate. The plate mounts into the reciever. The winch and plate will be removable leaving a goofy looking bumper.

Greg, this is what I would do to make it removeable and put it behind that plate (which is what I think you must be thinking, but I can't see it). You could fab this up yourself...

With my suggestion you could leave the bumper and plate in place, just have to remove the fairlead or mount the fairlead permanently to the carrier I posted and use it for both the Toy and the Ford

The plate is the carrier. It just slide into the receiver. 8274 winches are kinda to heavy to lift over the plate. For me anyway.

looking sweet! hope mine comes out half as clean. i got a crunch time and a 2 week period to get it trailable when i come home... so that i can make a run in early august... i'm just hoping that i get the time and the money to have the majority of the rest of the parts...

Here is some updated picks after i took in on it's first journey down to the end of the block and back. It rode real nice. Everything seems to work well. Still need to do some adjusting to a few things.
Since the last update the flatbed is complete except for the tail lights, brakes are done and bleed, sliders built, seats in, some more wiring done in the cab, and a few other things done.

Wheel? Careful don't say that to loud, you will scare it.
I like how the sliders turned out. Only one catch, they are right up against the bottom lip of the rocker panels. My first good drop and whammooooo. New body lines. Watch all the putty fall out :sad: :kissmyass: They are pretty stiff though with the heavy steel and gussets.
