Help! Anyone ever used these tires on DD/Tow rig??

Okay so I have decided I will not be spending 1200 or more on a set of tires for my Duramax, just because of the name brand or looks.. I have burned up a couple sets of BFG AT's and a couple of the tires i have now, Nitto trail grapplers.. They all are good tires, but i drive and pull **** to much! The little 4wd i use my truck for i would be fine not having a aggressive tire. That being said i dont want the weak ass tires the truck came with either! So i see these alot on craigslist.. Somtimes 650 for a set. I know you get wat you pay for, but i was wondering if anyone had used these before!?? Any info would be awesome! Also what tire are ya running ( and do you like it) on your tow rig/DD work truck? Thanks fellas! I run 285/75/16 just fyi :dblthumb:

Had a set of those MTZ's on a lifted silverado, loved them. but, don't know about trying to use em on a heavy truck. Friend of mine had em on a newer truck that weighed a good bit more and they wore pretty quick.

I'll figure out what's on mine. Matt at Busted Knuckle put a crazy amount on them...maybe 80k plus on his last set. There are ton of miles on this set I traded him for and a good bit of tread left. He swears by them and I am sold too. Might be Firestone Discovery's????
 
I ran aset if these in 37" on my 2005 powerstroke and got good life from them, never any issues with sagging, keptm at 60psi and pulled gooseneck all time. Now have a dually with 255/70/22.5 goodyears and will never have to by tires again :dblthumb:

No picture of tread and too much blood to take a picture of my freaking foot. I hate moving and refuse to do it in the next decade, again.
 
Thanks for the info fellas. I figured they sucked. Man i hate buying tires.. A part of me wants to put the ridiculously small size tires that came on it, 235 i think? Can't remember but I can tell you they are tiny for a 4wd 2500. But then there's the other part that will not let that happen. :woot: Dam 12-1300 buks.. Kind of feel like a moron sitting here looking at my rig with stupid high stickies bitchin about tires for everyday use, but I'm sure I don't have to explain myself to yall. Ha. thanks again and keep any info comin. It wont be long. My front tires are wavey and def not wearing right from not rotating like i should i guess. (im that guy)

I think stock size is 245's. I figure they'd be fine. May not wear as much as the high dollar m/t's or a/t's, but they obviously cost less too. If you're like me, it's easier to spend less more often. I run Federal Couragia m/t's on my 2500hd, 33-12.50-20....they were around a grand and the Toyo and Nittos were a few hundred higher. I've got about 17k miles on em and they are wearing decent. So I'm pretty happy with them for the money and will probably buy another set when these wear out. Long as they are 10 ply, they will probably be fine for you. And you'll be pissed if you put anything smaller than a 285 on it lol.
 
I've got a set of those Kendas in a 31 on my Grand Cherokee and I absolutely love them! They are a little bit loud but other than that, they are great! I have put about 9000 miles on them and you can't even tell that they have been driven on. I think I paid $620 for a set of 4 from my local tire guy.

I run Nitto DURA grappler highway treads on my 2500. 285/75/17 On my second set. I drive all over town for work and haul with them every trip. I get 45k on a set with frequent rotation, no joke every oil change. I hate road noise and have zero complaints with these tires.

Dammit man. My bad that sucks, thanks for trying tho! This negro has shoes on till i go to bed, cause of that right there. Weird i know. But 80k miles on a set almost sells!! Gonna look them up!

Haha. You would have dem dubs! Hey seriously, qeustion for u and anyone with duramax.. In all my chevys i have always took them straight from dealership amd my buddy that has a tire shop would take stock and trade me 285 BFG's for a couple hundred buks.. I turned the torsion bars up in all of them, had to and still had to trim a few of them on the plastic so the tires would hit it.. But my current truck is the roughest riding by far and already had to replace most of the front end components, wheel bearings, axles, couple other things i forget, (just burned :****: ) im sure most if not all of it was from turning them up so much.. What are yall doin? Leveling kits? Im thinkin of gettin one and doing it the right wAy i guess. First truck i have paid off and i plAn on drivin it till its DEAD.. 2007 classic 220k miles just fyi.

Prolly not exactly from having torsion keys turned up, but from so many miles on the truck, just time for all of it to start needing replaced. Mine is a 2006 gasser too btw, but same **** pretty much minus a little front end weight from the diesel powerplant.

Mine just has factory torsion keys cranked up a good bit but they are not bottomed out yet. Still rides fairly good. Wheels are +12mm offset so they stick out just a fuzz, but the tires I'm running are 12.50 wide which is a lot wider than your average 285/75/16. But they don't rub any now, did just a hair on full lock turning one way but not the other when the tires were new. My front bumper was already trimmed when I got the truck, but I have not trimmed anything. Usually always have to trim the front bumper to clear 33's.

A lot of folks around here run 315/75/16 (skinny 35's) on stock wheels with aftermarket torsion keys cranked up. Rub a little still, but just enough to deal with it.

My buddy has an 06 dmax with aftermarket torsion keys bottomed out with an impact and 2" lift blocks in the rear, 20x8.5 Rockstars wrapped in 35/12.50/20 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T's….rides like ass, scrubs when turning full lock, but is able to deal with it, but it looks badass!

I've always read that you just have to crank them up and keep an eye on the CV angles. If you go to far you'll have trouble. Was going to play with mine but the transmission just went out so who knows when I'll get back to playing with it.

If you want tires that wear like iron and don't care about the looks, nut up and buy Michelin. Not a better tire for diesel trucks made if you don't need anything aggressive. I regularly get 75/80k on my f350 work for running around loaded at 12k everyday. I do rotate every 5k and I don't even pay for the tires(company truck). Our two 4wd f350 run bfg at and they get about 40k running around at 10k+.
