High rise tube fender's with no bends..

Well I'm not a pro at the tube bender and don't have one that I could barrow for a few days. So I had a vision to make some high rise tube fenders without the use of a tube bender. Just using a notcher, welder, and chop saw (in my case Fortric loaned me his Porta-band, ) Also somehow work in LED rock lights (Vision X) I picked up from Those Guys rod and custom's.

So first I had to strip my jeep down. I was stuck baby sititng my little sister so I put her ass to work. :grinpimp:

Then I got busy.

I should of took more pics but here's what I got.

Ok the hood is going to get cut up.

Cutting the hood up was the biggest PITA. That took forever. Trim a little here, a little there.:barf:

Now came time to modify the Vision X LED's.. We cut the the chrome housing off and then I hit the edge with a Dremel bit. (yes I know warranty void) The lens is a perfect 1.25" but the lower part of the case is slightly bigger. So I had to sand it a bit. Also I had notch the bottom so the power wire would fit behind and inside a piece of 1.5" .120 DOM.

They had to fit in the end's of the main line. I cut the main line with a slight downward angle.

Then ran the power wires down the tube and out a small hole about 6" from the firewall. Sealed them with Black RTV. After painting this is what I ended up with. Excuse the mangled hood. I'll repaint that later :flipoff2:

I'm a little worried how they will hold up in a roll over, But I have another idea I'm working on for that.:grinpimp:

So just in time the sun was setting. Time to test them out.

Not meant to be headlights. These LED have almost 180* of emitted light. So they light the ground up pretty good too.
