I would love to have one of these. An ive been here once before. I just was wondering how much
One would cost. Just seeing if anyone has built one an how much it ran.
ive done some research on diff specs an chit. Was mainly wondering
What a price tag would be. An some does an donts...

I use to have a honda odysee with a 1000cc gsxr motor in it. Dad built it for me when I was 10 That things was a beast

I had two b18's listed on TOR a few years back. I was hoping someone would pick them up for one of these and nobody showed any interest at all. I could definitely see how one of these would be fun. Those motors are pretty peppy for what they are. :midgetwoopow!

ive built two in the past 3 yrs,first one had a 2.2,auto from a 1990 accord(this was my favorite) unilink front,3 link rear,10inch coilovers,toyota axles.38 tsl's,,very fun.
second one was a 1.5 civic,auto,toy axles,10 inch coilovers,39.5 tsl's
.
im planning on #3 very soon,collecting parts

Just for tech's sake, you have to flip either axle? :dunno:
 
Any pics. An what was the price tag. An do all Honda's rotate the same
way. I love these things. very interested in learning more.

I was always told you has to run the b series motors because of reverse rotation. But What quickracer just posted says otherwise. So I dunno.
 
with most of the Honda engines you do not have to flip the axles. This is why most ppl use honda vs other manufacturers. B, D, H, & F series Honda engines spin counter clockwise along with Corvair flat-6 engines.

When you place these engines in the rear of a buggy with the front of the engine towards the rear, it allows the axles to be run normally. It also places the transmission output towards the center of the chassis, allowing the driveshafts to go strait to the axles.

You can use other fwd drivetrains with the correct orientation inside the chassis. If you have them facing forward, the axles will not need to be flipped but the rig will be long due to the trans output being at the back of the chassis. If you face the engine to the rear like a CCW motor, the trans will be in the right spot but the axles will need to be flipped.

I have thought about doing the later using a SC 3.8l & transaxle from a newer Buick/Pontiac.

The biggest advantage I see with running the honda or other fwd drivetrains is how compact everything is lengthwise. Allows for shorter wb and better packaging/comfort in the pass compartment. Plus visibility from rear engine is great.

Seem like the cable would be easier bc u could mount ur shifter

most I have seen are link shift. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to convert to cable though.
 
dont have to flip the thirds,,all mine were automatics,,i wouldnt have a honda buggy stick.....auto's are cable shift,ill post pics later
