How do you qualify for a competition tire like the 43 TSL Stickies?

I don't race, but like to compete doing obstacle course type stuff. I ponied up and got some 16.5 stickies for mostly trail riding.

I recently trashed 2 sx2s so I bit the bullet and bought some stickies to replace them

Who is telling you that you can save $200 a tire from a racer discount on 43's? I have never heard of a racer program for them so I am curious.

I thought they were $700 a tire. That's what I gave for mine. Dam sure don't race and barely trail ride any more. But they look good on the jeep.

I have a quote from Jackson Motorsports for $650 per tire if I produce proof of competition use. If I order them on line direct add $188.00 plus shipping to the cost. This is for 42 BFG Reds. I have found the same thing on the 43 TSL's? Just confused on how you get that much of a discount after you compete? If you build 2 exact chassis and run Stickies on one and not the other the one without the sticky tire WILL NOT EVEN BE CLOSE!! So if I try to compete I guess the first set of tires you take it in the A$$?

42 reds suck :****: Read the 100 times they have been mentioned on here or ask anyone who has ran them... Not the same legendary red label performance as the 37 or 39.... Honestly, pretty much almost all 20 inch wheeled tires suck offroad compared to a 17

That really sucks! I hope that some of what Im hearing from the dealers is rumor then, I have been told twice this week that both 42 Reds and 43 TSL are going to only be produced in the 20"?? I hope this isnt so? I do not have a problem buying 17" wheels but will really be upset if I buy 17's I than all the tires come in 20" only??

You don't want 42 Reds. I would run a 31" all terrain before I ran them. BFG has no plans on making the 42 for a 17" wheel.

Sounds like you are talking to people that have no clue what they are talking about. And if you want 43sx stickies, go buy a set. Nobody going to give em to you.for ****s sake you may be in the wrong sport, Sport.

ha he said sport.

I've been a member on pirate since 2003 so there you go. You are the one bitching about the price of tires. I just stated that if you don't like the price of a sticky sx, maybe you should change hobbies. Sport thumb.gif

You are asking for a handout because you want to start racing... I understand wanting help but you have to have something to show the people that makes you a promising investment for them. You should expect some kind of reprocussion for coming on an open forum to ask for a discount and sharing information that a potential sponsor tells you is bad business and will make nobody want to help you!

Never had intention of doing anything other than BUYING the best tire at the best price possible. I still dont understand the pricing but I dont understand fuel pricing either. I at NO time expected anything from anybody free except advice? I will find a tire and pay what I have to in order to continue what I enjoy. The pricing I posted is as open as this forum, I guess everything that is questioned sounds as if someone is Crying? Sorry again for any misunderstanding.

What is part do you not understand?

1) call vendor (goforth, daves, etc), or hell even a local tire store that has an account with interco.
2) say "I'd like to buy a set of 43" SX stickies"
3) give them your cc info & shipping address.
4) have a beer and wait on the tires to arrive in a week or so.

Done!

Get ready to spend 3k on them

unfortunately that won't happen. we (discount tire) have an account with Interco and can't order the stickies unless we commit to large quantities.
