How is your rig's accessories wired up?

I've been planning to pick up all the parts I'll need to simplify my wiring and dash setup, but I haven't found a great place to get everything from. Which vendors are ya'll using to buy the toggles with rubber boots, IGN start buttons, battery switches, miniature led indicators, relays, fuse panels etc? I plan to put all of this on a single panel with the fuse panel and all of that attached to back side.

I'm a fan of snagging the relays at the salvage yard...and will probably do that, but I just don't feel like I've located a source that carries the majority of the pieces...at a reasonable cost. Places like speedwaymotors.com sell toggles for $9.99...way too high and places like surpluscenter.com sell them for less than $2 each. Let me know who ya'll have used with good results...any particular brands of switches?

I haven't located a good "all around" supplier for this stuff so I always end up buying from several different place to get what I need at the best price.. this is a slow process by the time you make sure you're comparing apples to apples and consider shipping charges..

thing is everyone has different preferences on what components to use…

I like using the carling rocker switches.. these guys have a good selection and some snazzy covers at decent prices, http://www.otrattw.com most of these switches will handle 35-40 amps continuous so you can run fewer relays if you like it that way..

I recently discovered that Oreilly has a good selection of fuse blocks in their special order catalog, I got a 12 circuit block with ground buss for $20ish… everywhere else I've shopped was more expensive and this unit was made way better than any of the cooper products i've used in the past..

Re: Re: How is your rig's accessories wired up?

Waytek, delcity, bluesea (for marine stuff, fuse blocks, battery switches), otrattw (or however it's spelled for Carling switches)

Check out 12 Volt guy. Haven't looked and his stuff in awhile but that where I got my stuff for buggy. Most of what he sold was off road related.

haha I always have to try a few times before I get otrattw.com… just remember over the river and through the woods lol.

x2 on blue sea products, I like using their buss bars to make switched power busses… normally I'll zero in on the part number I want to use then google the hell out of the best price I can find on it..

Thanks for the info...I've looked at some of the blue sea products, but haven't been to their site yet.

The 12voltguy stuff is nice, but I've always wondered why he doesn't list more of the parts he uses on his site. You can buy just about any kind of panel you can dream up, but not the parts...

Probably because his business is building/engraving/wiring custom panels, not selling components.

He probably doesn't get much better pricing on parts than the average joe, and is a one man operation, so filling orders of a couple switches and indicator lights wouldn't be profitable

Been extremely pleased with my 12volt guy switch panel with built in fuses each switch lights up with its on led and each switch has its on fuse which is easily accessible kinda pricey but I think it was a good investment

I may have missed it, but what rock lights did you go with?
I am trying to get my light situation figured out now
Thanks

It already had some standard style 55w round fog lights under it when I got it, but the bulbs were blown or short in the wiring harness. I ripped out all wires, ran new harness, and replaced bulbs in all 4 lights with 8500k color temperature bulbs from ebay, remounted them, and they are blue and do a fine job now. If bulbs start blowing in them, I'll switch to some cheap 12v led square lights.

A friend of mine has like 16 of em he found on ebay on his duck boat and them bitches are bright and have a good flood pattern. He said just search for 12 volt led light on ebay and you could buy em in bulk packages, they look cheap but work good. He said you can buy a bunch of em and end up only having like $20 a piece in em, I just haven't had time to look for em.

Realized I didn't update this with the newest pics of all the lights working at night.

Just led light. Sumbitch is bright!

Still need to play around with the position of the rock lights, but they are more of a spot pattern, than flood. You want flood in an application like rock lights.

Here's the walk around. Noise is partially the tachometer and partially some tools I had laying on the floor pan. Definitely not the engine and definitely does not sound like that all the time molaugh

Don't know why these won't embed anymore, copy and pasted it the same as I always do. :dunno:

Edit: I'm also gonna look into buying some aftermarket replacement headlights so I can get rid of the shitty looking sealed beams and put some good looking blue bulbs in a factory style housing. (One day) ...got other **** to do first. molaugh
