How much does your rig weigh?

I understood it was a rebanding but those that where previously banded would be grandfathered in. Do you have more info on this. If it is a complete re-inspection, i am out of the racing business with this chassis.

I am planning for a full re-tech. I heard they will be weighting and checking tube size. My truck was built in accordance with the 2020 U4 rule book so I am good either way. If you have something questionable I would fix it prior to tech or contact someone at U4 and ask them. I should have my appointment soon and I will let you know the details of the process.

I am not sure who to even contact now.

^ from the email sent by Dave after the Drivers Summitt.

Roger, Wide Open Design is one of the locations doing the retech/rebrand over on our side of the Mississippi.

GM 5.3, NV4500, 2 speed Atlas, GM Dana 60 front with lightweight brakes, Dana 70U rear, steel beadlocks, half worn 39 Reds. Steel Willys hood, gutted steel grill, and cut down steel tailgate. Also I made a full steel floor and a steel dash out of 16ga (so could've saved weight here). Came in at 3,824 but full of fuel would add 42lbs and that leaves 34lbs for tools to be right at 3,900lbs. If I bought new tires I would add even more in rubber

Sharp LJ's! @TravisXJ how do the Mud Grapplers do in rocks etc?
I have been very impressed, no complaints. Hook up well and you can beat the tar out of the sidewalls! Have some cuts but all hold air do pretty good down the road as well I've drove 2 hours one way wheeled and drove home. No balance beads or anything in them either. They are super ancient but going strong. Manufacture date is 2008!! My spare is also still has the nipples on it lmao

If I could find a way to attach a video or send a video have two or three that are decent

That's cool all around. Don't see them on many trail rigs/crawlers, so was just curious.

With a full fuel cell (19 gal) and no tools it was 4451lbs.
Since then I added BKOR ultra lightweight brakes in the front which equates to about 85lbs of savings.

I drive around with a rugged radio / headset and about 50lbs of tools., plus myself, so about 4600lbs when actually ready.

4380 lbs.
Iron head lq4, th350, atlas, 60/PR80, 14.5 gallons. 1/4" Domex100 steel skid plates.
Swapping the heads later on to aluminum will reduce it by 60lbs, and going from .25" Domex100 steel skid to .5" 7075 should save another 45lbs.

3440 with about 10 gallons of fuel. 95 YJ with 2.5/Auto/4.3 Atlas. Diamond Axle housings with Toy Thirds and rear is also a full float using mini truck hubs and spindles, 38" SX on Allied beadlocks. Going to re-do the front frame section and go full hydro ... might lose a few more pounds.

4313 without me in it. 4540 when I'm in the seat. 4.0, aw4, d300, 60/ho72. I was fully expecting 4500lbs so seeing 4300 was a nice surprise, as was the balance.
