how often and much towing before you go diesel?

oh....

and fyi....

empty on the hiway, I get 20-21 mpg at 70-80 mph.....(never had the dicipline to go slower to see if it'd get better)

towing my empty trailer and a whole bunch of 'stuff' up to alaska still got 18-19 mpg

w/ my rig and stuff for a week+ trip, I'm usually 17k+ lbs, I get between 12 and 14 mpg, depending on terrain, speed, etc....
best ever was like 14.5 going 55mph through cali <shakinghead>...

cummins baby!!
:awesomework:

The real reason for diesel besides the added torque, would simply be the longevity of the engine. My 97 dodge has had 22k on it gooseneck trailer. Still drives nice and is FUN to drive. I can take it out for a night on the town like anything else or go out for a days work.

I average with true divide the miles by gallons MPG of 17 empty and 12 with my 24' Haulmark Edge series trailer loaded.

loving my new 94 diesel compared to my old 3/4 ton camper special gasser.

Just DD right now but the fuel mileage is :awesomework:

i can't wait to get something that i wont be passed in when i am going up the pass.

I HATE BEING PASSED

i have a 2000 dodge ram 1/2 ton 360, since i've never financed a car and always paid cash, it was all I could afford at the time (I also buy brand new and have a 10 year rule) well, 3 more years and this baby gets it's walking papers! unless of course I inherit some $$ between now and then...
